The numbers of platforms where religious and deity lovers can gather and discuss (deity) matters are countless! How many serious platforms do you know beside this one where Freethinkers and Atheists-a-like can share their thoughts about anything?

atheistdiscussion.org, although most of the recent activity there seems to be in the political arena, there's been a lot of discussion of religion / [a]theism including a ... shall we say ... "vigorous" stem-winding thread about the historicist vs mythicist debate. This is the user-funded resurrection of what was formerly the discussion forums on thethinkingatheist.com, which were unceremoniously closed a few years back.

atheistforums.org (and IIRC there's an unrelated atheistforums.com)

[city-data.com] atheism & agnosticism forum has some interesting discussion but they're heavily moderated. No straying from thread topics as even organic topic drift is seen as derailment, no bringing up or discussion of science in that forum or religion in the science forum that they also have, etc. Almost no swearing, etc. If you can hold your nose and type around that nonsense, there are occasionally interesting discussions and a handful of really good posters there.

Nice addition! Except that most platforms you've mentioned are not well optimized for mobile use. Maybe for pc-users but most people these days are mobile users. Maybe finance/technical abilities make this platform rise above most of other platforms.

@PabloNeruda Yes all the sites mentioned use older forum template software and yes I do not wish to interact in lengthy posts typing on a tiny virtual keyboard with two thumbs or dictating voice and then extensively correcting it. In my personal view, a laptop is the correct tool for the job unless you intend to confine yourself to one or two sentence responses, which is pretty limiting in substantive discussion.

@mordant As a web developer for ages I personally mainly use mobile devices since years! Ofcource a big keyboard can be helpful but typing on mobile devices is as easy for me in general!

@PabloNeruda Yeah it's a different world for me. I'm a developer also, since 1983, mostly back end / server side these days, 98% of my output is console apps and services and APIs and I couldn't be productive with that work on a phone. And during the pandemic I use my phone even less than usual. Mostly for Apple Pay when I go out for provisions, and of course, to make PHONE calls. 🙂

There are a few, and the number is growing.
There are support groups for those leaving or having left specific cults and organization like the FFRF and Atheist republic.
Though sadly this place too is developing its quota of self righteous censorious busy bodies, who would muzzle the "wrong sort of atheists" give the opportunity.
