OBNOXIOUS NEIGHBORS

Apparently my neighbors think that the fourth of july is a freepass to be assholes. The neighbors across the street almost came to blows last night. In retaliation the one on the right has been setting off the loudest fireworks he could find. That's fine, they are quick and it is the fourth. Then either him or his friend who has the world's most obnoxious motorcycle think it is a good idea at 11 pm to gun it loudly, for a protracted period of time while everyone stands around filming it. It is way worse than fireworks. The windows are rattling, my animals are hiding, it was deafening. How small must your penis be if you find this acceptable?

In many cities, it's illegal to pop fireworks at any time of day. There are typically zones that you have to travel to to pop. I'm aware that a lot of people ignore any rules--espeicaly on or around the 4th (and New Years)--but they do so at risk of fines...if they get caught.

In dry / hot areas, the regulation is largely due to fire hazard, but of course there are noise regulations in almost all cities which surely would apply in your case, which leads to...

You might want to check on your local noise ordinance. A simple way is to call your (non-emergency) police on the phone. If there's one at all where you live, then clearly the motorhead jerk was in violation.

Unfortunately, some people need a LOT of attention. I'll be glad to lend you my tweezers and magnifying glass if you need them. 🙂

I am with you, my sympathies. Never understood what part of the intellect is inspired by loud bangs.

A Harley no doubt. Japanese and European bikes are now silenced to be no louder than cars but we have a Harley gathering in a local town here every year that they call Thunder in the Glens when hundreds of bad ass lawyers and accountants gather for the weekend to annoy the locals. It brings lots of money into the local economy so is tolerated.

I'm positive it is a harley that's been tricked out to sound waaaay louder than normal. Serious over compensation.

Don'tcha just love it when adults behave like children?

@Leslie00 I blame this on the lockdown and cancellation of public fireworks displays. Neighborhood fireworks are always an issue (illegal explosive ones, anyway), but this year has been exceptionally bad. People are lashing out in any way they can and this is one of them, IMO. I have no pets so didn't have that aspect to deal with, but it sounded like WWIII around here until well after midnight.

@Leslie00 gunpowder SMOG

Not only small, but doesn't work either. I'm okay with people who like to make large noises, BUT not in my neighborhood.

This is a problem nationwide. It has nothing to do with the 2nd Amendment. Sales of fireworks must be made illegal. I live in Philly, fireworks were illegal in PA until 2017. Now PA is a source for illegal fireworks tio NY, NJ.and OH. If it were just 4th of July it'd be fine. This has been all summer.
