Not a christian...but I thought he died of them original sin, or sin of adam and eve. Is that biblically accurate?

What was the sin of Adam and Eve? The whole idea of the garden was a setup proving how badly you need god. The talking snake was the one who told the truth and it was god who planted the tree in the first place.

@DenoPenno dude, I don't know! That's why I'm asking. Im trying to find out what Christians think Jesus died...not us! πŸ˜„

I was in the church most of my life and I was always told he died for MY sins. Talk about guilt....

Did he ever live?

It's all bassackwards for much of the world to understand life, I guess. Well I'm not really guessing.

The belief is that we are born sinners and it is impossible to live one's life without sinning. Remember, just having feelings of anger, or envy, or lust, are considered sinful behavior. One does not even have to act on any of these feelings--thanks to teachings attributed to Jesus.

Aw, c'mon, Joanne, I wanted a free sin pass! Gotta help Jesus, y'know? Every little bit helps.

As I recall, you're great at song parodies. Suppose you could write a song "Sin Like an Antinomian" to the tune of "Walk Like an Egyptian"? Yeah, I know, "Antinomian" has too many syllables. "Sin Like Rasputin" has too few ...

It’s such an awful concept. We are created β€œsick” and commanded to be β€œwell”.

WTF. We are not here to be preached to

glad you can recognise preaching when it is out of the context of religion.who cares whether he died in vain or not.

@Gwendolyn2018 What is this response is sarcasm? Fucking sarcasm-ception.

@dsharphead66 How vulgar, uncalled for, and misogynistic!

Well, this escalated tragically due to what I observe is a miscommunication. Have fun you guys.

@dsharphead66 Odd, your earlier comment seems to have disappeared.

@dsharphead66 All good, we've seen your true colors

That doesn't carry the meaning of the atonement. The apostle Paul explained it well:

β€œWhat shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?” (Romans 6:1-2)
β€œFor sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!” (Romans 6:14-15)

It does. It's serious business!
