This day in history - Sep. 2001. It's been 19 years already. It was horrifying enough for me to watch on the news in England. Did it change your worldview?

The third building collapsed without a plane going through. How?

Confirmed my world view that the USA is hated for all the money our taxpayers placed in the pockets of merciless dictators via our government. CIA coups, installed puppet heads of state. The Dominican Republic, Vietnam, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Ethiopia, Haiti. We even invaded Mexico. The list seems endless.....& repugnant.

No.

I've already had enough of religion before this happened. This was just another stick on the anger wagon.

Yup, a ways back… My worldview remained the same. Religious fanatics bent on destroying human progress while enabling the wealthy and powerful to stay that way, all at the expense of their ..cultures.

It gave our then president (Cheney) an opportunity to enact regulations he’d not have been granted otherwise. And, an opportunity to start two wars, one opportunistic, the other apparently necessary. No win for the ordinary..

It gave the least educated among us a ‘reason to fear’ outsiders … as our nation squandered the sympathy of international friends.. Had we done nothing in retaliation, we’d stand stronger.

Up until then, I don't think I'd ever considered us a place where religious extremism could get a foothold, let alone be organized enough to carry out such a major act of destruction. I think it bolstered my anti-religion mindset.

It proved to me that America is hated throughout the world. I see it everyday on this site.

I believe that we all need to objectively question why there would be hate directed against the US . It's the most difficult thing to look at ourselves objectively, or even through others perspectives.

@barjoe well they're responsible for crippling our economy, our country by the exchange rate, owning a huge chunk of our minerals and dictating import and export prices, so that they can remain the strongest at the expense of their own and others.

@TimeOutForMe You just confirmed what I said. It's easier to blame America for SA economic woes than the African National Congress. I don't care that outsiders hate us really, but yesterday was the anniversary of 11th of September 2001, so I mentioned an obvious truth.

@barjoe the ANC is guilty of terrible blunders too. ...but USA was in bed with apartheid perpetrators because they had a piece in the pie here. Sanctions against SA during the apartheid years was just a mild sugar coat to show they cared about the hardships of the people here who suffered severely under a regime ...but was never against it. They had companies here that employed whites only staff that supported the apartheid policies.

I do sympathise with the families who lost their loved one on 9/11. I don't support violence or terrorism.

@TimeOutForMe Truth is entities in the United States brought light to apartheid and brought sanctions an Afrikaaners. Kept Mandela alive and helped get him released. You hate America and insist on blaming them. Good for you.

@barjoe I do not hate America. I have family and friends there and have visited a few times. Why do you choose to use such a strong word as "hate". Its not necessary.

@barjoe plenty truth here even though case thrown out in USA.

@TimeOutForMe it was yesterday in reference to them blowing up the Towers. That's not hate? If I make reference that they were Muslims, I'm the one accused of hate. Ford, IBM are corporate entities. Blame the whole country.

@barjoe I was referring to myself, because this is what you said - "You hate America and insist on blaming them. Good for you".
...and that's not true about "me".

@TimeOutForMe I stand corrected. You don't hate America, you blame America for the world's ills. USA isn't blameless but there's enough blame to go around. There is a lot of hate for America on this site. I'm sorry for saying it comes from you specifically.
