Been sitting around the house for six months now and starting to feel like you should be exercising more? If you have a Silver Sneakers membership, there are a ton of online videos you can use to help maintain fitness: [silversneakers.com]

There is also a Silver Sneakers facebook page, where you can find a few videos. Here is one that is chair yoga: [facebook.com]

Plan a walking route and walk at least 5 days per week. Start lifting light weights.

Way to go; keep it up! It's a choice: the prison of a 'nice' soft chair, or the for-free, adventure of a nice long walk. A choice!!!

I am 110; looked pretty good till all the parts started to fall off, at age 100. LOL

Right now, as I have my pint, I am standing--- for at least an hour. I refuse to put ay fat arse in the prison of a chair. Then besides that, there is the freedom of parking as far away, and getting that 'free' exercise

There has been the question of why, in Africa with not as much medical services- and food, there are less virus cases. Jeezuz-dude, I would not want to be in the doorway of a North American "All you can eat"' restaurant. Imagine getting trampled by a herd of those 300 and 400 pound gluttons.

Yesterday, was a good hike, about 2 hours. Great stuff.

I work for SilverSneakers! I love my job!!!!

Teaching chair yoga is one of my favorite classes to teach!

YES, some people are not capable of a hard work out---- but they do what they are capable of. Big congrats to both the instructors and the participants

@MissKathleen Yes, take care of your knee, that's what these classes are for, not just low impact but for people with injuries, disabilities, and different diseases that limit their range of motion. I've been working for SilverSneakers for 13 year's and have been a SilverSneakers instructor for 14 years.

Keep exercising, it's the best thing to do for yourself. If you feel pain just let up a little, make sure your doctor gives you the okay first so you don't injure yourself further.

@Diogenes Thank you! It's a fun job and I love my participants, we have a good time during class, before we know it, it's time to go!

@MissKathleen That's great! Have you taken advantage of the SilverSneakers classes yet?

@MissKathleen One of my ladies moved to your area about a year ago and she said the same thing about the YMCA there.

Awesome that you have other options and happy that you are doing the classes online! I love this program!

Although I get plenty of exercise, this is helpful

I forgot to say that. It is a cardinal point. YES, for health reasons, some people can do less--- but at lest they are making the effort. Congrats to them !

@Diogenes The beauty of SilverSneakers is the different levels of impact and cardio that the different classes offer. Just choose which one is best for you, it's not just for the 65 year's old and older but multigenerational.

Not only am I an instructor I also work with the insurance companies that offer the program to their clients. This is supposed to be the busy time of year for us, I usually go to the different seminar's to do presentations for the benefit of SilverSneakers here where I live plus all of West Texas and New Mexico but since covid-19 that's not happening. It's a great benefit, I have seen with my own eyes how it has improved people's lives.
