I am simply running out of... whatever it takes to keep going in this horrible disgusting nation and culture we have become. I feel like no matter what we do, we are beaten and stomped on and spit on and degraded and shamed. All for more dollars for the ultra wealthy. All for more control by the zealots and fascists. Days like this... I just NEED my Bloom County...

I've bailed on news. i just can;t look at him. he terrifies me. it's too much... it';s overwhelming. so much just plain outright evil, no attempt to hide their greed or hate. i'm lucky. i'm in australia. i'll survive. i wish all my american brother and sister liberals and socialists, humanists and anyone with a shred of kindness left, all the best in the world. but i can't watch.

It really has become too much here. I’ve stopped following the news and have cut about 90% of my social media use. I’m a lot less miserable turning it all off. 😒

You want to hug my cat?

damn

@LenHazell53 I’m not sure how watching biased news and seeing propaganda spread all over Facebook is “doing something.”

@Apunzelle
in a free society no has the right to be uninformed

as my old journalism professor used to say.
Truth can be shared by anyone, freedom is a right but it comes at a price paid for in courage.

@LenHazell53 If something is impacting my mental health, I have a right to dial it back. If you feel the need to judge that, have fun.

@Apunzelle I sympathise I am diagnosed bi-polar myself, so I don't judge because I know what it is like.

I understand how you feel. It's saddening, infuriating, and frustrating. Sometimes I just try and avoid the news and media because it tends to make me feel worse. Ignorance can indeed be bliss when it comes to knowing what's going on in our country. Most days I just want to live my life and try and find some small bit of peace and contentment. We all but live in an oligarchy now and that will likely never change. At least I'm old enough that I probably won't be around long enough to see everything become truly horrible.

wtf

@LenHazell53 I assume by your childish reply that you disagree with me (and others). Maybe you could try responding with something intelligent.

@Charles1971 if you believe a statement like "At least I'm old enough that I probably won't be around long enough to see everything become truly horrible." deserves anything but a stupid reply, then you are truly as foolish and heartless as you sound.

@LenHazell53 Maybe you just refuse to see the enormous problems of this country or simply you don't see them as problems. Problems still exist even if you can't see them or don't care about them.

How am I heartless? Recognizing the cancer in our society is not heartless. Pretending it doesn't exist is heartless.

@Seeker3CO What disgusting nation is that? Do you live in Russia?

nope

@Seeker3CO Are you ashamed to be an American? This country can still get better. There's a election coming. Vote.
