This is rather an eye opener. This PEW report shows the less than 1 in 3 Republicans believe in scientists and medical scientists.

Trust in Medical Scientists Has Grown in U.S., but Mainly Among Democrats
About six-in-ten believe social distancing measures are helping a lot to slow the spread of coronavirus in the nation

Um, I thought it was well known that Republicans got to choose their own facts, those being "alternative facts", such as COVID-19 is a fraud foisted by the Illuminati onto the unfortunate citizens of the USA.

gee, actual evidence that Repugs are as dumb as we think they are.......

It's hardly surprising when you consider how many of them are staunch envangelical Christians who believe in talking snakes.

..and what’s the difference between a ‘scientist’ and a ‘medical scientist?’

Democrats represent the working educated; Republicans represent the opposite. That’s why trump’s party can so easily deny science, and Biden’s party are prepared to rely on it..

They don't believe in science or any form of expertise because they are uneducated, unaccomplished oafs who don't understand what evidence is or how facts are established.

They are the dregs of society without regard for anyone but their own.

IMHO. Most of Trump conservatives are people who probably had difficulty graduating high school. They hated school, couldn't wait to get out. Barely scraped through. Probably spent a good deal of time in the Principla's office.

There is another side to the Trumo camp. They really don't like their president, but they see an opportunity to pad their own pockets because the President is manipulative to pass policy that specifically benefits them. These people are educated and occupy positions to exert their will.

Lastly, their is a small faction that are truly fanatical in their love for trump. They love outwardly appearing strong individuals. They are shallow in their ability to discern the difference between a bombastic blowhard and a strong leaders.

@t1nick Very solid analysis. They should all have to tattoo a big red T on their foreheads so I know who to avoid in advance.

I have one distant family member that I am working on to change her vote but otherwise I do not take these people seriously.
