Just watched the whole of the debate. It was painful. Trump behaved disgracefully. Unfortunately it had its intended effect. And you can bet that some of his supporters loved it.

It was hard to conclude who won. It was a terrible debate from all three sides... Trump, Biden and moderator.

..well, yur two-thirds right 😉

I thought that Chris Wallace, being from Fox News, was surprisingly fair as moderator, but at the same time, he was overwhelmed by Trump and had no control over the debate and Trump. If they both go ahead with the other two debates, the upcoming moderators need to regain some control over the debates and that has to include the moderator cutting off Trump's mic when he continues to interrupt Biden and not restoring it until Biden's time is up and it's Trump's turn to speak again. But if that is proposed by the future moderators and Trump hears about it, I doubt he will go ahead and participate under those conditions. This may well be the only debate if a serious effort is made to improve things for the final two debates.

Exactly. Either cut the microphone or start the clock deducting seconds from their clock. Trump would have been out of time about half way through.

@prometheus Yup, there need to be real penalties to breaking the rules or there is no point in even attempting more debates. I figured the mic cutoff would be simpler, more fair, and allow the opponent to maintain their concentration and train of thought, since the whole point should be having a coherent discussion that informs the audience in making their decision. Trump obviously wants none of that.

His supporters are as sick, ugly, angry and dangerous as he is.. Biden was clearly Presidential, as was Hillary before him… The problem for trump is this time he’s a known quantity, and the nation’s sick of it!

But what actually hurt.. ..is that the rest of the world will witness the depth to which we’ve sunk… We are sickened and embarrassed by what’s occupied our White House - as well as the process necessary to remove it … let alone the legacy, destruction, wounds and death it will leave behind..

Vote - I did!

Deplorables?

I agree. It was the worst, most chaotic political debate I have ever seen. Trump's behavior was nothing short of atrocious, and Chris Wallace totally failed to keep Trump's behavior within bounds so that the debate could be rational and fair. Trump's constant bullying interruptions kept Biden from carrying a consistent train of logic. Trump did not win any new votes, and may have even lost a few who are fired of the chaos. Biden never had the chance for a fair debate, but I do not think he lost any voters.

I hope when Trump passes away, he's in horrible painful agony.
