I'm surprised that I didn't get more reaction to my Amy Coney Barrett post. In my view installing this brainwashed Catholic in the Supreme Court would be an insult to the intelligence of the entire nation. She a member of the People of Praise cult.

What's that mean? Think of it. One of their key traits is Speaking in Tongues. She's a glossololiac. How fair-minded and level-headed can she be if she holds the same beliefs as the priests of ancient Apollo? Dating back before Socrates they would go into a self-induced epileptic fit and writhe on the floor like bedeviled snake. They would then blabber nonsense syllables like a two-year old learning to speak. Only those with absolute faith could understand what they were trying to say.

Would you want such a person determining the laws of the country? Being a Catholic, she believes that as a teenager if you play with your private parts and then go outside and hit by a car, your soul will suffer unending, eternal torture in a place where you must Abandon All Hope, as Dante wrote.

I'm surprised that I didn't get more reaction to the point I was trying to make about "speaking in tongues" (glossolalia). Suppose you were strolling down the street and saw a group of people acting this way on some apartment house stoop. Would you call the police or some psychiatric institution? Now Republicans want to make Amy Barrett a Supreme Court justice to judge the morality of an entire nation.

The elements of Catholicism, tied to King Henry II and Saint Thomas Becket, which are wrapped up in Cone-head and Joe are perplexing. Center them all around a figure many think may be the actual AntiChrist (mostly demonstrated by having returned Jerusalem to the seat of Mid-East politics) and we have one of the most intricate questions of all time: Is it true?

Let me delve into that for a moment. As we know from King Arthur a story doesn't have to be true to make a long lasting impression and have strong elements of human truth. If the plot follows a parallel, but is undemonstrable as fiction, then (in my opinion) the truth of the plot doesn't really matter. What matters is how many believe the connection to what was taken as fiction is romantic and causes self-doubt of our conviction. I think this situation is alarming enough to harness the self-doubt and round up as many troops against this epic battle between Kings and Catholics. Henry's son goes on to create Henry VIII and exclaim, "I love being King." He wins the glory of his father's realm. This time Becket needs to win.

I’m sure even those ‘wanting nothing to do with politics’ realize their inaction has led to this.. Four years ago they allowed the worst president in US history to take control - amid a Republican controlled Congress (both houses)! Now, there appears little to nothing anyone can do but pile on votes for Democrats ... to the point they win back the Presidency and the Senate - while maintaining the House of Reps..

trump’s pre-picked choices remain the worst of the worst, no doubt. But the previous Justice, the politically ignorant RGB, created this calamity by not having exited within the Obama Administration - after suffering numerous serious medical ailments. Thus - “Justice Amy Coney Barrett” ...appears to be RGB’s real legacy.

What do you propose we do?

Interesting. Any performer can tell you that knowing when to leave, doing so when they want more, is essential for becoming a legend.

ummmm, "RBG leaving" would have been helpful: Merrick Garland? Ever heard of him?

@AnneWimsey I hadn't gone there. Good point.

@AnneWimsey ‘RGB’ had been sick and weak for a long time. Did Barack Obama’s choices of ‘Sonia Sotomayor’ or ‘Elena Kagan’ not give her the confidence necessary to step down during his presidency..?

‘Merrick Garland’ was Obama’s ‘moderate choice,’ assumed better suited for the Republican dominated Senate, and to replace a hard-core asshole.. ‘RGB’ had at least seven safe years to clear out, she didn’t - instead - she’s given us what’s been described above - Hell ~

@rainmanjr, @AnneWimsey … as is, retired Justices ‘David Souter’ and ‘John Paul Stevens’ were far smarter and wiser than the intransigent RGB

@Varn maybe from a white male point of view.......

@AnneWimsey Two “White Males” retire to allow their seats on the US Supreme Court to be filled by a ‘Black president’ appointing two ‘Female justices?’ Nope, but that is the kind of blow-back having caused a lot ‘white males’ to have voted for a ‘white male’ for president…

@Varn wow, can you say "convoluted thinking"?

@AnneWimsey Yah, didn’t make sense to me either.. Usually we white males look out for our own 😉

@Varn having worked for 13 years in a shipyard amongst 20,000+ mostly white men, I can categorically state the main "side job" ws playing "Gotcha", so, no.......

@AnneWimsey I suppose feeling suppressed for a lifetime makes some touchy, even vindictive … even if they’re the majority.. All I know is what I’ve seen, and often feel regarding men; they’ve reached a level of retribution that’s causing many of them to lash back. I understand. And though I’ve not voted for trump, too many of them did, and will again.

If you can’t take Ginsburg's failings along with her successes, don’t blame men ~
