It’s helped me slow down. It’s become my excuse for not attending various events and (near) worthless social gatherings organized by people who apparently crave or assume they thrive on them. Before, they appeared to ‘feel sorry’ for me not attending; now, I feel sorry for them..

My hope is, it lessons such unnecessary events in the future, and gives me the excuse that, ‘if by habit alone,’ I’m no longer attending

I tend to be a homebody by default, so in some ways, little has changed. I do miss visiting with friends, and occasional travel adventures, but I assume that will return eventually. Being left totally to my own devices has been an interesting adventure in introspection. I’m guessing re-engaging the social world (if that ever happens) will be particularly sweet.

Sadly it has not. For many years I have worked from home, putting in seven days a week in the summer at least. This year I was supposed to be semi-retiring. And guess what, I am still stuck at home, but now its called social distancing.

I'm almost a total recluse, but i don't mind this lifestyle too much.
