Say what you want in assessing whether the "debate" last night was a win or loss or tie by either party, but there is one factor which gives an enormous advantage to the Trump side in gaining points, and that is that they are not constrained by FACTS. They can claim anything they want to and make it sound like Trump is the greatest president ever, but you must remember that virtually everything they say is a lie. In a real debate, the participants are required to use facts to argue their case, but Trump has made a fine art out of saying anything he wants to say without the proof to back it up, and will never back down, even when the allegations are proven to be false! His followers invariably chose to believe him without question. I think that when he delivers a bombastic monologue to his sycophantic "base", the distance his hands are apart at any point is a gage to the intensity of the lie! In short; "It is always easier to win an argument if one is not encumbered by the truth".
This is still only about 35-40% of the population. Even with the electoral system being skewed in their favor, it's not enough. Unless they convince some people who can see through his bull shit to vote republican anyway as they did in 16.
Right. And he also is the establishment now. So he can't run as the outsider going up against the hated insider, promising new different policies of draining the swamp and all that.
@RoboGraham I don't think it matters. He and his "handlers" have decided that he's not leaving no matter what, so as before, even if he loses the popular vote, it still will go in his favor, thanks to Russians, Zuckerberg, the Electoral College and the Republican Party.
