No. Her family were very wealthy Russian oligarchs. Their wealth and property was taken away by the Bolsheviks when they came to power after 1917. Her political and economic philosophy was formed simply as a reaction to that. That philosophy was formed of several premises: greed is good, (all governments are bad, and (I can do what the hell I want and nobody has any right to place any restrictions on me.

No.
She overreacted to World War II and the fascists, dictators, and madmen of the period, and went WAY overboard in the other direction.
As did a lot of other people.

As a philosopher, Rand was a half way decent novelist, with no talent for narrative but a superb talent for creating despicable 3d characters.

@Hages No, I mean three dimensional characters, ie well developed and rounded.

Ayn Rand was a bitch from hell.
Her influence on Reagan and the American Conservative movement cracked our foundation as an independent democracy.
I wish there were a hell for both of them to rot in, simple decomposition isn't gratifying enough to me personally.

@Hages I remember the 1968 Democratic convention when Buckley called Gore Vidal a three letter word synonymous with homosexual and threatened to punch him in the nose. He was a bully and an elitist prick and I've never been able to stomach the thought of the MF since.

@Hages I have no interest in either of them.

Ayn Rand and Hitler were both influence by Nietzsche. They corrupted his beautiful ideal. She was closer to Hitler than to classic Nietzsche. I'm not a fan of hers.
