Most Atheists want to pick a winner. The deck is stacked against Atheists by fake news polluter advertisers and rapist judges who reverse punishments against polluters like Kavanaugh.... Joe BidenS crime families are worse than TrumpOLINI....our Atheist candidate WWW.HOWIEHAWKINS.US was illegally kept off the ballot in 19 states..... writing in @HowieHawkins never works since 1788 elections though Jefferson was elected while branded an Atheist in 3 elections 1796 1800 & 1804 ....Adlai Stevenson was branded a : " gawdless Unitarian " 1952 1956 McCarthyism is the reason many Atheists give up too soon for Atheist Politicians

When most of the candidates to choose from are conservative and/or religious, there's not much incentive to vote.

As always,the lesser of 2 evils, unless you are running for office(!?!) you will never find the "perfect" candidate!
"Not voting" IS a vote for what you have right now!
This year, there is incentive. Big time.
I'm not looking for a candidate who is perfect. Just one that isn't evil. And I always do vote. I'm saying that the reason many non-believers don't vote is probably because there aren't choices that represent them well. Still, we vote in numbers higher than the national average so I think we are doing alright.
@RoboGraham All you need to do is look for the candidate that understands that Separation of Church and State should be a guiding principle. And the Democrat s do know what that means. So there is an incentive to Vote. Vote for a candidate that respects having a secular society. And That's the Democratic candidates. I know you don't think that there is much difference between the 2 big parties. But in this case I respectfully suggest you are wrong. The Difference between Democratic and republican candidate is quite enormous when it comes to separation of Religious beliefs and Public policy. The right to choose being a good example. And for the first time ever a candidate and a president (Obama) was heard to say on numerous occasions when talking about american Citizens that we should all respect different religious beliefs and Non Believers. Yes it was Obama that stated to us the phrase Non-believers in his public addresses, and he did it often. So the choices on this issue are stark. Chalk and Cheese, Black and White. Democrats respect the separation of Church and state while Republicans show little regard for it.
Agreed. The democrats are generally better on this issue. I'd like to see them support a tax on religious institutions and put laws in place to prevent addicts from being court ordered into rehabilitation programs that require the acceptance of a higher power.
The separation of church and state issue is a good reason to support democrats, most of them anyway. Not all of them are good on secular rights.
