I got the opportunity to talk to a philosopher and he said "reality is an incarnation of the spiritual realm". Although i believed at first, i said to myself what if there isn't actually anything like the 'spiritual realm'. i need to know if i'm right or he is.

Feel free to drop your take !

And whose spirit I may ask? More human centered idea crap. We are not the center of the universe nor the world. Why must everything be about one STUPID species?

As an agnostic, we really don't know, do we? But a 'realm?' Maybe other dimensions or universes?
Atheists say no, absolutely not.
But what do they know?

To me that sounds like the nonsensical ramblings of a pseudo-intellectual. Those words don't really mean anything, especially together. It makes me think of that bit from Joe's Garage: "Well, information is not knowledge, knowledge is not wisdom, wisdom is not truth, truth is not beauty, beauty is not love, love is not music, music is the best! Wisdom is the domain of the Wizz (which is extinct). Beauty is a French phonetic corruption of a short cloth neck ornament currently in resurgence." All you really need to do is find a small enough room that no one will know you're full of shit, or at minimum, no one will out you to the rest of the room as a moron.

What evidence is there for a spiritual realm? None. Zero. Being spiritual can mean almost anything you want it to mean. I once told a woman I worked with that I was no longer a believer. She said that I seemed so spiritual to her. I think what she meant was that she did not see me as wanting to eat babies.

You may not wish to eat babies, but are you inclined to smash their heads against rocks?

Here's the thing: reality is reality. It doesn't care about our vote of confidence. As soon as we want to discern (or actually, impose) a sense of meaning about it, then we are in the realm of subjective thought. That to some is getting close to the spiritual, but it is still subjective or made up.

Uh, this philosopher made the assertion without a shred of concrete evidence. Wishful imagination is not evidence. It is delusional.

spirituality = bullshit, that's your answer

If you revert "spiritual" or let me explain this way. Ruach in biblical hebrew means force described like breath, wind or storm. When ever biblical text translates ruach into English it often is translated as spirit. A little erroneous because ruach being a force described like moving air would be better translated into English as kinetic energy.

Now, if you consider that spirit or spiritual might could or should be better called or related to kinetic energy then you could very well say that everything know in the Universe is related to or comes from the '"kinetic energy realm ". Everything is in someway in motion with kinetic energy.

So, in a way of understanding spiritual as meaning something motivated, that is it has been given kinetic energy to move, then yes, every thing is spiritual.

So then as last comment would be incorrect. The spiritual realm of motivation because something is given a force to move can in fact be observed. Atheism illogical.

That philosopher would get a "dismal fail" from me in any examination. As both @Ajc333 and @xenoview have observed, there is zero testable evidence to support his (her?) assertion that the "spiritual realm" (whatever that is!) exists.

This explanation is vivid! Thanks

What objective evidence do you have it exist? All you have is subjective evidence from your mind.

@xenoview You asking, what evidence do I have for the existence of kinetic energy?

@Word
The spiritual realm. What testable evidence do you have?

@xenoview maybe you should understand as I explained spiritual as being related to kinetic energy and motivation like a motivational speaker gives motivation speeches, then you can test, observe and understand the realm of kinetic energy and motivation.

@xenoview What does a motivational speaker do? A motivational speaker uses his body to send messages by kinetic energy of air molecules to another person's ear that picks up the kinetic energy message of the air molecules and translates that into understanding within their brain.

@xenoview Here is one observation of the spirit realm from this pep rally displaying "Team spirit".

Motivation to GO!!, FIGHT!!!WIN!!! beat the opposing team.

My philosopher (aka my brain) tells me what reality is and how to deal with it. It has served me well for 83 years now to date. I may, and sometimes do, listen to other philosophers, but mine has the final say so for me. Your mileage may vary,

Philosophy is an in-built ability to interpret a cause(reality).
I'll listen to mine too 🙂

Welcome, just so much of WOO. IMO 🙄

The book waking up by Sam Harris talks about spirituality without religion but yeah there’s zero evidence for souls, or a spiritual world and your beliefs should be proportionate to the evidence.

Philosophers vary in their interpretations of reality. Spirituality itself is a term with many meanings. Without a greater context, it is difficult to make any effective analyses.

Let's just say that "Some Philosophers vary their interpretations" shall we, since NOT all do so.
There are many so-called 'versions' of actual Philosophy these days but what I like term as being ACTUAL Philosophers are those who seek to offer up hypotheses, etc, as how, why, when and where, etc, like, for example, those from Ancient Greece, etc.
I also tend to think that we all, somewhat, tend to philosophical at times during our lives, though some may simply insist that, in a given situation, they were merely "considering the options" or just "weighing up the Pros and Cons" because to them philosophy may seem like a 'dirty word.'

Welcome to the asylum.
Enjoy your stay.

Since I've yet to see any factual evidence of anything spiritual, I'm going to go with him being full of shit.

As far as philosophy goes, I don't see it as any more than just someone's opinions.
Sure, some may be more well thought out than others, but opinions nonetheless.

Why do you NEED to know? It doesn't matter. Just enjoy life.

First you need testable evidence the spiritual realm exist.
