I just read some of the most disturbing articles and now I can't sleep. Barr just unleashed his prosecutors to investigate alleged voter fraud before results are completed and certified. After reading Barr's memo instructing prosecutors and understanding Barr's intent, the head of the DOJ (more like the DOI for Injustice) division over election crimes resigned. Presumably the resignation had everything to do with Barr's improper instruction. Meanwhile, top Republicans starting with Moscow Mitch are backing trump's claims of widewidespread voter fraud after meeting with Barr this morning. Lindsey Graham says election laws need to be changed or no Republican will ever be voted in as president again. But Lindsey, isn't that the choice of the People as in who our government is supposed to be of, for, and by?? Republicans cry and scream about unfair elections, but it isn't unfair simply because the majority of the people vote for the other guy! Get a grip! Then there is the Republican governor of Florida Ron DeSantis who encourages Republican controlled state legislatures to change their state's laws to allow them to appoint trump Republican Electors so the Electoral College will vote trump in as president instead of Biden. If ever there was a scheme to actually steal an election, this would be it. I recall 4 years ago when Republicans lost their minds when some Democrats made a similar suggestion (although I believe it was not any prominant Democrats such as the Senate Majority Leader or the governor of a state, but rather a reporter or someone not in government). Republucans called for emergency legislation to criminalize Electors who didn't vote the way their state mandated from the election. I more recently learned that Electors are selected from the election process so states where trump won the state sends trump Electors to the Electoral College to vote and states where Biden won sends Biden Electors. DeSantis's suggestion is much more nefarious perverting our (outdated) election system when 4 years ago, those who strongly opposed a trump presidency only encouraged Electors for trump to vote for Clinton instead. They did not suggest an official conspiracy to change laws to subvert the will of the people.

Sorry for the long rant. It did help to get it off my chest.

If the shoe was on the other foot, you would be screaming for investigations. Hell, the democrats were planning legal action over the results prior to Nov. 3rd.

I acknowledged that 4 years ago some Democrats called for the subversion of the Electors encouraging them to vote contrary to their state's majority. It was not near the degree of suggesting that state legislatures pass laws allowing them to officially dismiss Biden's Electors and replace them with trump's as Ron DeSantis has suggested. 4 years ago, Hillary Clinton concede the election even though she received some 3 million more votes than trump. This time around, I did read that the Biden campaign did have a sizable team of attorneys at the ready for the election. Two possible reasons are 1: legal challanges where voter fraud is evident is appropriate and 2: trump has been broadcasting for months that he intended massive lawsuits to do whatever he could to be certain he won the election. Preparation for such an assault is sensible.

You also need to see how Republicans are reacting to trump's loss in this election in an unreasonable and sychophantic manner. Republicans are attacking their fellow Republicans who do not sign onto their narrative no matter how much it diverges from reality. Republicans from Georgia are calling for the resignation of the Georgia Secretary of State who is also a Republican. The Georgia Secretary of State has refuses to say significant irregularities exist in the count of Georgia votes, and these state Senators have attacked him saying he has mismanged the vote count and lacked transparency. Neither of these accusation have had any evidence presented to support them. At this point, they are baseless claims made by two Republicans against one of their own.

You say, what if the shoe was on the other foot, and in fact, it was. trump has been been president for the 4 years. No one tried to replace Electors to subvert the Electoral College, next to no recounts were requested or demanded, and Democrats settled down to resist trump's narcissistic and largely self-serving leadership in other ways. Why is it that similar consideration isn't extended to Democrats when trump loses this election? As it is, only 4 Republican Senators have congratulated Biden on his election win. All 4 have been critical of trump in the past. The same was not the case among Democrats 4 years ago. The equivalency you attempt to make just is not a valid comparison.

Karl Rove published election strategies which includes strategy #3 Accuse your opponent of your own weakness. In should go without saying that the companion to this strategy is not to admit your own weakness. We should be suspicious with trump broadcasting accusations of election fraud from Democrats that committing election fraud if necessary was part of his game plan from the beginning.

Certainly, disallowing votes legally cast under the rules originally set up by changing the rules is a form of voter fraud. The trump campaign attempted this strategy with some 100,000+ votes cast in the Houston, TX area, but the courts didn't allow the voters to be disenfranchised by an after-the-fact rule change. As I understand the challenges intended for the vote counts in Pennsylvania and elsewhere, they too would involve an after-the-fact rule change involving mail in ballots. Mail in ballots are being targetted by trump because Democrats were encouraged to vote by mail in ballots due to the pandemic. trump encouraged his supporters to vote on election day. Because votes cast on election day are typically counted electronically, they would appear first on running totals reported by the media. The effect was to skew the app earance of the vote counts in favor of trump. Subsequent mail in ballots counted whittled away at trump favorable skewed count and turned the lead to Biden. trump has long set up this scenario saying mail in ballots were fradulent. (Never mind it was his preferred means of voting). Now, I've spoken with trump supporters who believe mail in ballots received after Nov 3rd should not be countec with no consideration of postmarks. But this is perpetrating a fraud because it is a rule change governing mail in ballots. Those I've communicated with are relying on the Supreme Court to make the final decision - no doubt, expecting the now highly conservative court to side with trump handing him the election. Here is the intended fraud for this election. Disenfranchise millions of legally cast votes by changing the rule of how votes are to be counted after-the-fact and have be certified or actually perpetrated by our highest legal authority in the nation. But disallowing votes legally submitted under our current rules no matter by what legitimate institution is no less fraudulent than to preventing them from accessing the polls in any other way. Our Constitution begins with "We the People" and sets forth the contract between the governed and the government. Disenfranchising the People for minority rule violates the contract. Republicans are set to travel this path and it is an action to be condemned. History will not look kindly on this episode especially if Republicans successfully pulling off this fraud. My guess is that history will already frown on the silence of the majority of Republicans as they set themselve to acquiesce to the intended subversion of our democratic institutions.

Don't lose sleep. I think they want to scare people don't be scared. If you see something on social media, block those people. I don't even have to know them, if I see something.I don't like I block them. I went on a friends FB page where there was 50 comments, I could see 5 of them. I had a decent idea what the blocked people are saying. I don't need to see that shit. Biden won. He will be president. Trump will not go away, unless he dies, but he won't be President after January 20th.

Thanks, good summary. You are not alone, but it seems the world is closing in on Trump. Those that still support Trump after a clear election defeat are plainly saying this: The Constitutional process should be set aside for Trump, relying on a partisanship in the courts that are supposed to be party-free. The only way to save Trump is to subvert the democratic election. And that basically means the United States is dead as a democracy. As that realization dawns on his supporters, few people will risk their reputations on a sinking ship. We'll see.... (We knew it was going to be like this: complete chaos)

Thanks. I appreciate the reassirance. I had thought things were closing in on trump also but became concerned agsin after reading some of these articles. It will end, I just hope it does without damage left in its wake.

It is important to be realistic. Putin put Trump in office to damage the US as much as possible. Trump is the ultimate sore loser, and a proven psychopath, so it could get very ugly before we are rid of him. In a way, the more trouble he causes, the better, because he's blocking his own path forward, and nothing but bad PR for the GOP putin-americans.
