Just a thought here,
Should we not spare a moment for this Imaginary God of Abraham who once was purported to be the Supreme, All-powerful Ruler of the Entire Universe but, in less than 2,000 years has gone from such exalted heights to being little more than a mere titular head of whom almost every man and woman proclaiming themselves to be his/her/its representative knows exactly, precisely and undeniably what this once Omni-Mysterious Entity is thinking, wanting, desiring and saying?
Thoughts/comments anyone?

Seems it would need a much better PR team.

I think that. "being little more than a mere titular head of whom almost every man and woman proclaiming themselves to be his/her/its representative " Was how he started, a very unremarkable career path, ended where he started and went nowhere in between. LOL

No, now where are the potato chips the movies about to start.

Yeh but that’s what you get for revealing oneself in the middle of the desert to illiterate peasants.

Oh thank you ever so much for your very kind comment, may I offer this in reply then.
May your chickens turn in to Emus and kick your dunny door down, may your head lice become Elephants and break into an endless stampede thus giving you eternal headaches and may your sperm always swim in reverse....LOL.

@Triphid you are more than welcome! I can only offer kinder words in return. Tears of blood are spilled, as one by one, man dies. Sails are torned to ribbons, but one human still defies.

@Mvtt My apologies here Friend, I mis-read your earlier comment and got the idea you were referring to me.
Sincerest apologies cfor that, I hope you accept them.

@Triphid friend, apology accepted

Oh btw, I did post this as a joke, a jibe, somewhat sarcastic in nature AT the religious and religions.

Loses something when you have to explain it - hahahaha.
I found it hylarious (high maybe?).

@silverotter11 If you're not high you should be 😉

I won't spare a moment for imaginary things, however I will spare a moment for all those that are convinced a god exists because a book explains what a god did. I hope they wake up and see the truth.

but if such questions endlessly preoccupy us, the ubermenchen of mankind, those precious few who have managed to overcome the hard wired temporal neurons that research suggests keep mankind as a whole enthralled with this bullshit, for evolutionary reasons no longer relevant to tribal survival but still useful the hierarchy eletes..... if instead of endlessly praying to god, we are now endlessly tilting at the windmill of its non existence, then hasnt the terrorist won? ("the terrorist", for those needing an opera program to decipher this turgidity, is "god" ) . lets fucus our keen intelligences, self selected into this collection

me again, the friggin hare trigger reply button went off by itself again. i'll be brief now (HURRAY!! ((you shut the f ... up !!)) )...... is it hare trigger or hair trigger?. theres a case to be made for both................ this collection of geniuses, on more important questions for our doomed species. ..........wheres the best pastrami sandwich in western north carolina?

@holdenc98 Er, excuse me BUT what is this 'pastrami anyway.
I much prefer a good old Aussie style Chicken and salad sanger (sandwich) or the Seafood salad rolls any day.

@Triphid what? ---------- youve pre judged pastrami without even tasting it?

I believe in the china teapot orbiting around the sun in an elliptical orbit between Earth and Mars. And I demand the same time allotted to all other gods, or else dammed you all!!!

3

No need to pay much attention to it as it is the nature of all gods created by man.
“The Ethiops say that their gods are flat-nosed and black, while the Thracians say that theirs have blue eyes and red hair. Yet if cattle or horses or lions had hands and could draw, and could sculpt like men, then the horses would draw their gods like horses, and cattle like cattle; and each they would shape bodies of gods in the likeness, each kind, of their own.”
Xenophanes. circa 500 BCE.

About as much time as I give to Isis, or Baal, why not? Lol!

What! Spare what little time I have left on earth for an imaginary thing? Not a fuckin chance in hell!

Hey, ease up a bit I was posting as a joke, a sarcastic jibe, if you like at religion and the religious.

@Triphid. Easy up? Never, never, never, never, never, and then some.

Nope I'm good

Jehovah was a tribal god. This is why he said not to have any gods before him and also why he was violent and murderous. In NT times there was no bible as we know it today. In fact, no bible at all until the third century. This fact has modern believers today simply making up crap right out of the air. They think it sounds good, and it fits what they believe now, so it must be right. Abortion is one such issue. In biblical times a child was not a child until it was born. The fetus had no rights period.

I hear many claim the aborted and those who died in early childhood are up there in heaven and we will see them again someday. OK, what about my dead sister Deborah? She never made it out of the hospital and I never saw her. My parents may have used her death in their search for a religion. Deb was baptized maybe to prevent her from going to hell. IDK. My family went to her grave twice that I know of. How do we know Deb in heaven and how will she know us? Are you seeing impossible things here like I am. Religion started with some unbelievable thing and continues today as people just keep on making it up.

In my 74 years I have seen Evangelical religion change drastically as people just keep on making their god more and more like themselves. It is what they want it to be and it becomes more impossible as we move along.

Yep, my son was still-born at 24 weeks plus 3 days approx. so I know fairly well what you are saying.

If I remember correctly, NO ONE is in heaven via the Bible until AFTER armageddon and the earth gives up her dead, etc. Those christians all seem to forget what their bibles actually say for the sake of feel-good emotional platitudes.

Islam did try to address that image thing, tho killing anyone who depicts their god does seem a bit too extreme.

According to my fundy siblings our parents should be in hell. But they can never bring themselves to say so.

@dahermit You are exactly correct here according to the scriptures. When I tell people this they call me a JW. The truth is that modern believers want to be "instantly" somewhere and they use Paul claiming the wonders he saw not knowing "whether he was in or out of his body" to back up dead believers being in heaven when they die.

Meh. Imaginary things can't get their feelings hurt.

I miss my imaginary friend Gary. We should spare a moment for him, too, since he was a genuinely good person.

Yes, didn't we all have an imaginary friend in our childhood?
Mine was named, oddly enough, Henry, and now I have a friend and nephew ( 7 years of age) named Henry.
The even stranger thing is that when my late and lamented daughter, Lorrae, was about 4 years old I overheard her talking to someone yet knew she was completely alone in her room playing.
I asked her who she was talking to and when she replied you could have knocked me over with a feather.
She smiled and said, " Daddy, I'm playing with my friend Joel, he's my brother."
Yes Lorrae did have a brother named Joel Adam, but he was still-born exactly 4 years and 4 days before Lorrae was born BUT no-one had ever mentioned or told her about Joel Adam either being her brother or even having been still-born.

@Triphid weird

@1of5 You can say that again.
I have spent many an hour trying to fathom that one out myself.

@Triphid An interesting and amazing story. TY for sharing. I've had some weird/wonderful/odd things also.
