At a job interview, I was asked
the following question; How is work efficiency important to you ? My response: Iā€™m very religious and Iā€™m created in the image of God so I work in mysterious ways.
If you were my interviewer, what will be your opinion about me ?

You will do nothing and never show up for work and never be seen just like God. PassšŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚

You didn't answer the question, you side stepped it. I'd have asked you to clarify, and if I were the hiring manager I would not have been impressed.

4

You're a kook and building excuses at the front end before you even start.

4

I would have asked you what "working in mysterious ways" meant in the context of your responsibilities and duties ?

How did the interviewer react or respond?

4

My opinion of you would be that you were still unemployed.

3

My answer would have been: Bill Gates said he would always choose a lazy person to do a difficult job, because he would find an easy way to do it. Iā€™m not sayin Iā€™m lazy, but Iā€™m highly motivated to improve upon the efficiency of wherever you put me. šŸ˜

3

I'd kick you out of my office.

3

I wouldn't hire you.

3

My opinion of you would be that you're a smart ass who should find a job elsewhere.

3

You'd score points with me for being original and for possibly mocking god. I like that sort of thing but I'm a heathen. If I were a Xian interviewer, I might have to say a prayer of protection against you.

What the hell, you got the job!

3

I would have LMAO! Then I would have hired you, but told you that you can't preach to the other workers.

2

I wouldn't make any comment. Anything I say, as an interviewer, could be cited later. I'd reject the candidate, but I'd give some other reason.

2

I don't see what the answer has to do with the question. Surely an employer would expect their employees to work efficiently.

2

Disgusted, my sensibilities offended. What makes you think that would impress me?
I'd insist you prove yourself qualified for the job. After you'd done so, I'd politely and professionally inform you we do not hire religious head cases, and bid you good day!
But that's just me.
(Oh, you really said that? We're you serious? And why are you asking MY opinion? Okay then, if you were serious, see above. If not, you're a sarcastic twit. Either way, get lost.)

2

I would say that I also work in mysterious ways and you should go home and wonder what's going to happen

I guess you did not get the job.

2

Nice come back that one.
Well thought out and well put.
Ever so many Employers EXPECT and DEMAND efficiency above and beyond the capacities and capabilities of their Employees that those self-same Employers are either unable/incapable of producing themselves.
Hence, were I to be interviewing you for a job then I'd be hiring you based upon your initiative and sensibility of your response/s.

2

Depending upon other factors, I would give you a shot and see how you work after a week. If you are doing your job and pulling your weight as part of the team then you get another week, and so on.

2

From years of interviewing and hiring, your application would be tagged to the "never consider" file of a large (albeit religious) organization.

2

It would depend on the rest of the interview but, off hand, I'd probably see it as a clumsy attempt to make an irreverent joke.

2

And why have you joined this site ?

Looks like you didnā€™t get the joke.
Iā€™m šŸ’Æ atheist.

I wouldn't have cared. If someone has the qualifications I give them a chance. But I'm also not beyond telling them to get their shit and go to the house if they're not pulling their weight. Day 1 or day 100 doesn't matter. Guess its because I grew up in construction in the 80s.

1

I'm not hiring you, but I'm not the norm. There are a ton of religious people that might see you different than I would.

A lazy loser.
