Regarding voting system integrity -

This has been a pet topic for me for about 20 years (particularly since Mr. Gore did not get a fully fair vote count in Florida in 2000) and the big challenge in recent decades has been that Republicans are extremely skilled at playing the victim of largely-non-existent vote "fraud" while simultaneously engaging in voter suppression (which tilts the scales intensely for them) sometimes at a massive scale. I do think it is worth saying up front that in previous eras Democrats could also be guilty of really substantial undermining of the voting system, such as (allegedly) in the 1960 Presidential election.

Here and there I try to follow organizations which try to shed light on voting system integrity in an honest and stalwart way. There are two that seem worth mentioning to others.

  1. First, in the background in a quiet reputable academic way is this organization which has to do with the University of Sydney (Australia) and Harvard:

We can see they've issued a new report on the US elections, which I haven't had a chance to read yet:

  1. Second, and differently, there is this investigative journalist, and, increasingly, a team that he seems to have brought together, or work with:

what's really great for me in reading through their recent publications is to see that additional names are appearing in the byline writing the articles, and so it is not just Greg Palast who is having to take too much of the lead.

For one example of a good informative recent article that seems to be associated in some way with this team or group:
Civil Rights Groups Fight Back Against Georgia’s Voter Purges

Over the years this has been a pet issue, I have donated very small (i.e.: within my means) amounts of money to one or two of the organizations over the years, usually during the presidential election season. I often do this in lieu of donating to a candidate or party or partisan cause. I think part of the reason is, if the voting system integrity organization does its job properly, the issue is inherently non-partisan and this will be kept in focus at base. (This is not to say it should be ignored if a political party is particularly guilty of egregious behavior, just that it is important for the organization and the issue-followers to keep in mind that, at base, a support of voting system integrity involves a support for an inherently non-partisan effort.)
