For those in the us:

— President trump’s overt broad daylight attempt to undermine and cast unwarranted doubt on the integrity of the us voting system, and use this doubt to help him in his takeover of the us government is ONGOING. We should still be treating the situation as the emergency that it is.

— Vice President Pence’s failure to invoke the 25th amendment in this situation makes him either directly complicit in this ongoing takeover attempt or, at best, dishonorably lacking when the Constitution is in grave danger as he has clearly the best legal chance to protect it. When this is over either he should be prosecuted as complicit or at the very least voters should make clear he will not be welcomed as a patriotic candidate for President in 2024. He has already shown he will not in some situations protect and defend the constitution if he is given the opportunity.

Of course it's ONGOING, who the F doesn't know that?
Anyone pretending it's over is typically a Republican buying time for the next phase of the coup to happen.

It's become an obvious fascist insurgency. Three quarters of Repuglicans say tRump is acting patriotically, that's three quarters of a population that is half of the country. I think democracy is going to have it's work cut out for it in the future.

@Theresa_N It's more like 30%, unless people are lying about their motivations.

I haven't seen it said clearly, and I think there are any number of people not in the Trump camp who have allowed themselves to think that maybe now the worst of it is over and it will just go away. As I have seen deliberations over whether or not to impeach, and when, and whether or not Pence will invoke the 25th Amendment, my thought has been that many of the people now trying to take the reigns and point us in a better direction do not seem to understand (in my view) that the immediate threat is still there. At least, some of their responses reflect persistent and unacceptable naivete (in my view) as to not only what happened, but what continues to happen.

Another specific which prompted my post is the report of plans by the far right to organize "protests" in all 50 states. Another reminder that the insurrection spurred on by this President is not over.

So, if pressed, I suspect most of them would claim to understand that the situation is ongoing, but my impression is many of them still don't get it.

We dare not ever underestimate this President and his dastardly goals, and that he has some proven skills in plotting and scheming and executing his plans. Yet, so many seem (in my view) continue to underestimate him. Hence my post here.
