And so for something lighter in these times of social stress.
Atheism and the English language.
I have often encountered 'OMG' and 'My God' being said during moments of disbelief and surprise.
Thus, I will propose that at least us atheists replace 'My' with 'No'. Just a simple change, but perhaps it could catch on.
So when you encounter something that would normally warrant a 'My God', try slipping in 'No God!' And in your text speak, ONG instead of OMG.
Go on, give it a go, I dare you.

Could say “ holy shit!”....no, wait, that won’t work either.

You forgot the comma in the middle, and of course I use the F-word as a comma.

One could say, Holey Shit! Then it's just shit that is full of holes rather than some sort of sacred turd.

@Joanne that works.
Reminds me of the old joke:

Boss: hey kid, grab that ladder
Employee: I hate it when you call me kid!
Boss: well, what’s your name?
Employee: Kidd
Boss: hey Kidd, grab that ladder!
Employee: that’s better

Wholly shit, how about that?

I hear you but a lifetime of OMG is likely to come from most of us. I do remember childhood where "mad dog backwards" was swearing. Then there are those who talk of "dog." None of it bothers me and i do not worry about it.
