Gregory Dow: US missionary jailed for sex crimes in Kenya orphanage [bbc.com]

A US man has been sentenced to more than 15 years in prison for abusing underage girls in an orphanage in Kenya. Christian missionary Gregory Dow set up the orphanage with his wife in 2008.

"Gregory Dow was the proverbial wolf in sheep's clothing," said the FBI's Michael Driscoll. Last year, Dow pleaded guilty in the US to four counts of engaging in illicit sexual conduct with a minor in a foreign place.

The orphanage was partly funded by churches in Lancaster county in the US state of Pennsylvania and was in operation for almost a decade before Dow fled in 2017.

No, NO, No, DO NOT let him go to an American Prison and live as an inmate.
Cancel his American Citizenship, send him BACK to Kenya in Chains and let the families/relatives mete out THEIR justice upon him with NO recourse, etc, from the Police, Government/s or the International Community what-so-ever.
Back in 1979, here where I live, there was a Child Rapist who was caught in the act by locals.
He received a soft sentence from the Court and returned to his filthy ways here 2 years later.
I will NOT name names BUT he ended up being suspend by his genitals over an open, deserted mine shaft, some 200+ feet deep by the parents and relatives of his victims and left to his due fate.
Almost everyone in town knows where his filthy remains are, what happened to him BUT no-one has ever told the Authorities where to look.
Imo, Scum like him deserve NO mercy what-so-ever at all.

Absolutely disgusting I agree they should lock up the piece of shit without chance of perol

I wouldn't mind street justice to be honest.

Missionaries should be banned from any country in the world! If a group is rendering help to impoverished people, there should be oversight built into that group to protect those being care for. People who have not ‘tamed’ themselves, should find other occupations.

15 is not enough.

Never enough. At least it is in Kenya where the prisons are not nearly as safe as in most of the US - and yes, I know prisons here aren't usually safe.

@Beowulfsfriend That true.

Scumbag. Amazing how many predators use religion as cover...

It gives them unfettered and innocent looking access. 😟

Sadly, there are thousands out there preying on children every day in the name of God.

@St-Sinner Well we have quite a few open, deserted vertical mine shafts out this way just waiting for 'new' occupants.

@Triphid

You have really peaked my curiosity about the the outback country.

@St-Sinner In what way may one ask?

@Triphid

Your suggestion of punishment achieves two purposes .... Give closed housing but secondly, removes any chance of getting out. No parole board required.

@St-Sinner WHY should Scum like that be permitted to,
a) be given a chance for early release via a Parole Hearing, since he, in particular, has SENTENCED his victims to a life-time of of mental anguish, etc, WITH NO opportunity of release from such,
b) WHY should the rest of Human kind bear the costs incurred in keeping Scum like him alive and well fed, housed, etc, in a prison with a life of relative ease and comfort, when his victims must SURVIVE a life-time of endlessly remembering what they were put through by him?
I have lived through 57 years of being a VICTIM of somewhat similar circumstances, YES, I am a Survivor but those memories never truly leave you, not for even a few seconds EVER.
