I often get really sad and disgusted when I read some of the political posts from Shawnee locals. The hate and bigotry is rampant.

Today on the neighborhood Facebook page there were several requests from elderly or disabled folks for help picking up groceries or shoveling snow. In every instance there were several responses from people that would gladly help out for free. There was also a post offering free canned food.

I knew some of the people that made the generous offers. Some were my good progressive friends and some of them I didn't know or knew that they had completely different politics than me.

I am sometimes a Facebook political warrior. I hope I will think about those generous acts the next time I get angry at someone who has made a stupid or angry post before I retaliate.

I am now writing my husband's favorite maxim 20 times ,"No one is all good or all bad."

I agree that their good deeds do not in any way negate the evil that they do. I think the point was that all of us are not all either good or bad including me and my wonderful progressive friends.
I was also trying to remind myself to strike out less without considering the total picture. It does not mean in any way that I will forgive or forget pure Evil.

Meanwhile, in my area of Missouri my insurance lady told me that someone crawled under a truck last night and stole the catalytic converter. Must have been a broke doper. Junk men will give you good money for that converter but it was 3 degrees here this morning. 🙂

Junk dealers should be required to show owner ship of it ,by there pink slip ,may help some what but only honest ones

I would add that it’s the degree of each that makes the person worth the effort to know.. I’m sure there were people in Ted Bundy’s life who thought he was just the nicest man. Other serial murderers were well loved for their civic activities. That doesn’t excuse the evil.

No amount of good erases the small amount of bad in a person, because if it did a small amount of good would excuse the actions of a monster.

Is that like saying "there were some very fine people on both sides?" 🤪

My town too. Our food bank had to close to protect the health of the elderly women that ran it, for a year now all we've had is some lockers stocked by neighbors, they are never empty.

I canceled Facebook when news broke they sold our data without our consent and without notification and without compensation.
I’ll die and go to fucking hell before I fall for Facebook again.
Just to be clear how I feel about them.
I recommend everyone cancel Facebook

Yes, but everyone sells your data without your consent. The "legality" that they operate under is that if you have visited their page you are giving consent.
