Yo Jo where will you go.
Or don't you want no-one to know.
Woo, sold.Tomorrow
Eschews that debt.

Moving to a smaller place. Don't need all the cleaning or gardening either.

@Jolanta you could advertise in the Times for a neat freak boyfriend then kick back and enjoy some Yusuf Islam while he vacuums and cooks dinner. Oh Belconnen, come here young man and peel me another grape, there's a good fellow.

@waitingforgodo Oh, O so wish you would have told me before I sold my house.

@Jolanta so you know the song?

That's the only reason I don't sell my house. I bought my house in 2002 for a paltry 80K. It's paid for since 2017. Gentrification. I couldn't afford my house now, it's worth 4x that much. It's cheap for me to stay and I don't know where I'll go.

@Gwendolyn2018 I had a 15 year mortgage so I didn't pay it down, went free and clear with the termination of mortgage. If you can't tax deduct the mortgage, the difference between the amortization amount and the equity paydown is sort of a tax free investment. So if mortgage to term is $100K and you owe $50 K, it's worth it if you have the money to do that.

@Gwendolyn2018 If you can afford the monthly payments, don't bother. When and if you sell it, you'll be fine.

Just had a vision of a gentrified Joe saying,

"Another flute of your finest champagne thank you bartender.
And this time would you please be so kind as to pour the sparkling chardonnay with some semblance of panache, aplomb and elan".

@waitingforgodo Not really. They could be the reason I leave. Bunch of snobs. Still, crime has gone down, except for package theft and stealing catalytic converters. Hipsters and yuppies like to live in the inner city. It makers then feel cool. They mostly drink craft beer and dine on Gastro Pub fare.

@Gwendolyn2018 I would pay it off. I think that the interest rates are going to start creeping up.

I sold mine because it became too big for me. I don't need four bedrooms, a studio, three bathrooms and a large garden. The on I am moving into is much more manageable.

@Gwendolyn2018 That is just fabulous.
