Politicians don’t tell us the truth?
Until a few of us say, “No more!”, we will continue learning how much crap we will accept.
Arizona’s history tells of the few who drafted a state constitution. They saw the corruption in eastern states, and to prevent it they wrote direct democracy — the direct initiarive, referendum and recall — into their draft. It passed. A decade ago the state’s voters stopped the gerrymandering their elected legislature was doing.
California’s history tells of the few who proposed direct democracy. Opponents, wanting voters to defeat it, called it “Socialism.” They failed, and voters have several times struck back at legislators who were serving themselves.
