Let me explain Easter. If you look up Easter past and present you will see it is anywhere from March 30th to April 19th. How could this be? Passover also has these changeable dates during different years. Well, let's see. If Jesus died and was in the ground for 3 days (actually he just had a bad weekend) we have to ask when he died and when was he resurrected. There is a 20 day span in our own calenders for this event. This year Jesus will be resurrected on April 4th. It means he died almost 3 days earlier. When did he die if Easter fell on March 30th and why would it matter? By this time I'm sure that poor Jesus is tired of dying and being resurrected. My church friend tells me that I'm being silly and they know when he really did die. But this is not true.

In the Old Testament god killed all the children except the Jewish ones, and this was called Passover. Just put the blood of a lamb on your door post and the death angel will "pass over" you. Coming back to the times of Jesus we find that he is the "lamb of god" and that his blood being shed for you will allow death to pass you by and you will live forever. But only if you believe. If you believe in Jesus and his death as a sacrifice for you, and a substitute for you, then you will live on with him forever and ever.

But we still don't know when he died. He could not have died or resurrected on all those different days.

In fact, we don't know when he was born either. With lots of speculation for his birth, it was finally decided along about 336 A.D. that the old Germanic Yule and Roman Saturnalia could be used for his birthday. That's the story of how Jesus got born on December 25th. This is all enough to make an atheist out of me.

Enjoy your Easter. You and the kids enjoy a celebration of new life through symbols of rabbits and eggs because Spring is upon us. The yearly new birth is here.

If you're going to talk about a myth, then accuracy is necessary. Jesus wasn't in the ground, but in a tomb, wrapped in cloth. Of course, because the Romans always allowed the crucified to be nicely taken down, oiled up and clothed up and put in tombs. Really, they did. Christians wouldn't lie to you, would they now.

In 2018, Easter fell on April 1st, for what that is worth.

Does it mean Jesus resurrected on April 1st in 2018? What I think I have posted is proof that the resurrection is a myth. If there was a real Jesus someone wanted to explain why he died.

@DenoPenno GeeZeus was, IMHO, simply a construct of other prototypes in similar religions
I just added the fools day as trivial knowledge. So, to the fools who celebrate, why not rise up on fools day.
