So... it's Easter time again. That time of the year when we celebrate the glorious resurrection of Jesus Christ and our delivery from the fires of Hell. Xians believe that he allowed himself to be put to death and spent a weekend in Hell so we wouldn't have to spend an eternity there.

For that ONE TIME incident of taking one for the team he is worshiped and glorified forever. Maybe I'm being petty about this but if I have to renew my vehicle registration every year and my credit card every few years then I think Jesus should have to renew his sacrifice for Man at least every century or so. Also, I'm a reasonable man so I'm willing to forego the part where he's put to death. He just has to spend a weekend in Hell every 100 years to renew his sacrifice for Man. And it can't be some pussy version of Hell where he just gets some blisters, he's gotta have his nuts chewed off by imps, and be ass raped by demons, and be urinated on by Lucifer himself. He needs to come back from that weekend needing a week in the Bahamas to recover.

Either Jesus has to renew his sacrifice every 100 years or I never have to renew anything either One and done, just like Jesus.

youre being too hard on old jesus. isnt it enough that he pedaled his malarkey indirectly through deluded fishermen, all the while struggling with a monomaniacal psychosis? jesus was a sweet enough nut. it was paul who was the real major asshole.....happy easter!

It wasn't really a sacrifice he walked again he was only dead for a couple of days. he was executed in a horrible way but so where thousands of others. Many people all over the world suffer worse than JC did dying awful prolonged deaths through no fault of their own, children starve to death and die of easily preventable diseases. So it was not so bad at all was it

He only died for three fucking days and as far as I see nothing has changed after his three day death sentence. It was just a publicity stunt. He needed to top the turning water into wine and the feeding the multitudes with a loaf of bread and a couple fish tricks, so it was the old come back from the dead trick. Brilliant!

Was it really a sacrifice if you could come back to life?

with a father like HIM youre better off dead

It's simple really. A monotheistic God has a son (though logically he can't) and sacrificed him (though he didn't, as he came back in a couple of days) to atone for our sins (though you can't atone for other people's sins), and for such sins which he created in the first place since he created everything in heaven and earth. Simple.

An irony about this is that the people who consider themselves Christians aren't really following his life style because he was Jewish and obeyed the Mosaic Law, didn't eat pork and had Saturday as the resting day. The Christians have Sunday as resting day and eat pork, they started doing that to differentiate themselves from the Jewish. I find that amusing.

Zombie Jesus and a Rabbit that somehow lays eggs. No matter where you look at this "holiday" it's absurd.

@Gwendolyn2018 I actually saw a peeps cereal at the store today. I may or may not have baby burped when I saw it. Nobody will ever know because I mask lol

There's certainly more suffering in the world than a handful of imaginary deities can handle.
It's why we turned to science and that's been working great every time it's tried.
