Lets keep the population fearful shall we? Reminds me of Uni where I was always barefoot. My biology lecturer gave me a lecture, in front of the class, about all the nematodes and other parasites that could enter my body through my feet. So I came back "How about swimming in the sea? Lots of microscopic nematodes etc there as well, should I never swim again but live my life paranoid?"
I feel the better we get at viewing the microscopic world, the more doom and gloom science is going to discover that may kill us. Personally, I feel it's just life and to stop living in order to be safe is missing the point of life altogether.

And that point is?

I enjoyed parasitology a great deal. However, the professor had spend a good deal of time in Central America and did contract the parasite that causes river blindness. She wasn't looking forward to her third eye surgery.
