A stranger called me on my company phone and didn't readily identify herself, so I was polite and apprehensive . . . Until she started talking about how the pandemic has made so many sad, so she was reaching out to provide ministry and comfort. What a hoot! She tried to tell me that the bible was actually very scientific and that much of what we're witnessing has all been predicted. . . But Nostradamus was just a copy cat. Not surprisingly, she was unfamiliar with Neil deGrasse Tyson and his notion of the God of the Gaps or Reza Aslan's work describing how the bible was pieced together to align with one man's vision of how it should be told, rather than consider the input of his peers, regarding Jesus' message. What an unexpectedly entertaining call!

Cold calling.. so 80's. lol

I haven't had a face to face encounter with someone trying to sell me Jesus for so long that I'm actually starting to fear for the fate of my eternal soul.

Wait, no I'm not. Whew! That was close.

Insanity via cold call? Wow! That's pretty bizarre. Did she hit you up for money?

Nope. Apparently, gawd just put her in my path because he doesn't like her and wanted me entertained. Kinda kicking myself for some of the missed opportunities, like questions about Noah's ark. Were koalas really expected to risk drowning during a transoceanic journey to avoid a flood?

If somebody calls my phone, and I haven't already registered the number, I almost never answer.

Sometimes, I just answer and don't say anything. Just to hear what happens on the other end. Sometimes they call back a couple of times.

we've been trying to get in touch with you about your car warranty...

Registering with the do not call list makes no difference at all. They still cal you.

@Gwendolyn2018 yikes, how are you not getting them lol, i don't even own a car and i get like 2 a day?

It was my company phone. I get calls from our vendors and employees on there, so I can't just ignore a call because I don't recognize the number.

I’ve actually have had telemarketers Spoof my number so that when they call someone my number shows up on the caller ID

Funny how that happens

Maybe word of my playful, antagonistic blasphemy is spreading. 🤔

You are to be admired for your kindness. I'm usually a bit more blunt with the Believers who try to "save my soul."

Save it from what? 🤣 If I invented the electric chair, then told you what you needed to do to stay out of it, could I claim to have saved your life?

@chalupacabre Oh, they're sure they need to save me from hellfire. I just laugh and tell 'em that's where all my friend are.

He who seeks to save his life/soul shall lose it?
