The Atheists Old Farts Free Firewood Enterprise had its second meeting yesterday evening and those cheeky Farts (LOL) decided that, " Since I am the OLDEST then I should be the Co-Ordinator and the Keeper of the Register of Recipients of Firewood supplies."
More flamin' paper-work, as if I haven't got enough of it already, as Ned Kelly said, " Such is Life"...LOL.
Also, did a survey with the local R.M.A. 2.I.C. yesterday afternoon where we checked out all the other Highways and Main Roads leading in and out of town.
Our range for collecting firewood CAN if needed be extended from the present 50 kilometres to 0 kilometres and the drought has truly done its dirty work over the last 5+ years.
Given that we already has a list of 71 households in need of firewood and that by my rough estimation we have approx. 0-5 tonnes of potential firewood in trees that have died or are dying, then we will have a good supply for the next 2 winters at least.
Our 'crew" won't be going out and cutting trees on Monday because the R.M.A. has a stack of bridge timbers, approx. 8 feet high awaiting them in a separate storage compound, nice red hardwood measuring mostly 1' x " x 8 feet in length.
That alone should be enough to supply each household for at least the first part of winter this year.
Btw, "Old Farts" is an Aussie term of endearment for those who are "over the Hill," over 50 years of age .

"Old farts" is used constantly where I live - Minneapolis. I think it is maybe a worldwide thing.

Sounds good.

And ''old farts'' is universal.....we use it here all the time.

When you get to 80+ you graduate to becoming a G.O.F. so my daughter once informed me, G.O.F. meaning, laughingly, a Geriatric Old Fart....LOL.

@Triphid Hahahaha.....we ain't that far away. I'm 74, my husband is 76.

@Lilac-JadeCanada LOL, then you will graduate a bit sooner than I will.
