“Right and moral?!” According to whom? Doesn’t sound like very solid ground for that foundation.

When Ike said "moral" he meant IN gawd WE TRUST rethuglicans born since the 1955 theocratic seizure of power was an all out declaration of war against countries with oil and labor unions in power... As MussOLINi said fascism is the union of corporations AND government = military profits

The Republicans put the “con” in conspiracy.

Ike was a good guy, it's a shame his Republican administration's VP, CIA Director and Secretary of State were raging fascists. Republicans were all intimidated by Joe McCarthy and Ike should have challenged him sooner.

It’s about power. Nixon was quite intelligent but his ego was huge and is desire for power did him in. Reagan had more charm and wit than Nixon but again a big ego and power hungry.
Ike was the real deal. He had a moral compass though his role in WWII must have taken its toll on that morality. I think everyone was intimidated by McCarthy and, just as with the Orange stable genius, it took time and more than a few people to stand up to him.
