This virus this was most likely artificial and nothing in nature has seen anything like this before, it may continue to mutate in unforeseeable ways that may destroy humanity. Getting a vaccine is the only insurance policy we have, and the legions of stupid that refuse to get vaccinated may doom us all. It only appears we're ok; this virus is only getting started and may not go away until it finishes us all off. Praying to a stone God won't feed us or save us as.

Ohferpetesake...becuz there Never have been any viruses before....smallpox, polio, the Common Cold? Get a Grip!
And Edited to ask, WTH difference does it make? Did it help defeat AIDS in any way, when the rumors were flying that it was also manufactured & "targeted to gays"?

@EarnestEccentric News headline, not a scientific consensus.

@EarnestEccentric it is an OPINI9N PIECE by a non-scientist, duuuhhhhh

Wild and unwarranted hype.

All viruses mutate in unforeseeable ways, as do all bacteria, all plants and all animals. The thing that is most likely to finish us all off is not any virus, but the unlimited stupidity and greed of Homo sapiens.

3

Big assumption there about the virus being artificial.

Agreed, it is a claim made but nothing by way of supporting evidence is offered.

@EarnestEccentric Did a scientist make that comment? Is that the scientific consensus or just a news headline?

@Krish55 OPINION PIECE by a staff writer.

Assuming you are talking about the coronavirus, I don't think there is anything to indicate it is artificial. We have a number of coronaviruses, including the first SARS virus, so nature has seen many things like this before. I do agree that its path of mutation is unpredictable and that mass vaccination can be helpful in slowing its progress.
