All political views on China aside, this is one ordinary person's experience of living in the country. I love meeting people from different cultural backgrounds.

Diversity is sustainable wealth.

Hi there. Yeah, since when has the word "diversity" become treated like a taboo word? 😟 It just means a variety of things.

@Ryo1 Many Americans do not value diversity, perhaps they never did. They do themselves and others a disservice.

@Ryo1 So true, “diversity” has a variety of meanings, one of which is “a variety of things”. ( grin )

Few Americans find a variety of head baldness patterns taboo. I won’t say the same for a variety of skin colors.

@yvilletom There is nothing wrong with the practice/quality of including people from a range of backgrounds, is there?

@Ryo1 No, but I like to play with words.

Have you heard of Jacques Derrida’s deconstruction? I have studied it and found it difficult. I think it refers to reading closely or carefully.

My not saying “Unicorns are blue” does not say they are blue.

In politics, diversity stirs emotions and emotions can adversely affect understanding.

I won’t say “Few Americans find a variety of skin colors taboo” when I hear daily on news shows that many Americans, most of them Republicans, find a variety of skin colors taboo.

Quite right. Hence "all political views aside".
