A thought on the trend of toxic threesomes...

If you're the type of couple that thinks it will improve your relationship to have sex with your therapist.... You're probably not listening to your therapist.

Using another person as a substitute for the therapist in that situation... is not going to help!

Threesome s are not a substitute or remedy for healthy communication in a relationship.

Toxic couples are one that use another person's body to navigate poorly communicated or negotiated expectations and understandings amongst themselves... Not only are
the information dynamics of this situation unhealthy, they exclude the agency of the third person.

If the third person exercises their agency in any way that does not comport with the experience the couple has determined they deserve / need... They will likely project onto the third person and each other negativity.

This is very similar, if not no different, to the common behavior of toxic masculinity where rejection is handled in an unhealthy and dangerous manner.... In situations of both physical and emotional intimacy.

Hella toxic!

Alrighty then.... Fairly confusing post. Not sure who you are referring to, you and two other people, a threesome you heard about.....?

Just My takeaway from a story in which a couple was so into their own narrative of the situation they didn't really listen to what the third person was or was not comfortable with.
