The ever-generous USA has been spreading its largesse to the Taliban, it appears. I wonder if the armaments makers will now lobby to sell them spare parts.
The list of military and logistic equipment supplied, free, to Afghanistan and now in Taliban hands, makes a sobering read.
As the article says, "The Taliban is the only terrorist group with an air-force"

Maybe this is some plan to get Eric Prince back into the picture so we can give him millions again and play a losing chess game.

Erik Prince, founder of Blackwater, USA, and recipient of billions from the govermment.

@Petter Yes, and most likely he wants back into the profit picture.

I'm still laughing at the $150 million the Afgan president fled with when he left, apparently suitcases stuffed with it. Only it's not funny really. The war in Afghanistan is like a microcosm of everything that's wrong with the US and this world run by elites.

Agree with that. But I do wish it was not the custom to use the word "elites" like that though. Elites has a sub-meaning of better and superior. What could be better and superior about being corrupt, greedy stupid, incompetent, entrenched and nepotitic. I think that the word , establishments, is much better.

@Fernapple I should have said ruling classes.

@David1955 Or ruling establishments, would do.

@Fernapple I'm a Marxist at heart. I think in terms of class, class power, class struggle, and class consciousness. Establishment to me is a term the 60s left invented to refer to all the old fogies who sit pretty in the scheme of things and block change. 🙂

The USA gave military and logistic equipment to the Afghanistan government, (shouldn't have) THEY gave it to the Taliban.

And this is the second time. They've been fighting us for years with arms we gave them to fight the Soviets.

The Taliban a terrorist group ?. They are the de facto rulers of Afghanistan. In this situation surely it is the US military and it's allies who were the terrorist group.

well said. It seems the Military Industrial Complex has been exporting terror for decades.

Good point.
