The ultimate question; is anyone else here a gamer? If so, what games do you play?

Just to make it clear, Candy Crush does not count, and if anyone comments that, I will attempt to stop your heart with my mind. Be warned.

Oh sheesh. Do I need to list all of them? Well, I'm gonna anyways. Be warned xD
First off, I play first edition D&D. As for video games (PC and consoles), there are all of these: The Elder Scrolls (3, 4 and 5), Assassin's Creed, Halo, Mass Effect, Diablo (all three), Red Dead Redemption, Borderlands, DMC Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, Terraria, Minecraft, Sims (below 3 or 4, can't remember where I stopped really), Civilization (Idr numbers at all), Oregon Trail 2, Spore, looots of flash games still, mainly on miniclip (Motherload and Dino Run are still some of my ultimate favourite casual games to just pick up whenever I don't feel much like anything else), Resident Evil (mainly just 5 so far), Far Cry 3 (about to possibly get first and second one though), Dead Space (all three, though I'm a bit disheartened by the third and haven't gotten very far in it), Fallout (New Vegas and 3), Gears of War, Dragon Age, Crysis (2 and 3), Fable, Half-Life, Dishonored, Tomb Raider (also some of GoL), Saints Row (3 and 4), Bioshock (1 and 2), KoA: Reckoning (love this game so much tho, want morez), Dust: An Elysian Tail, Prototype (1 and 2), Remember Me, Turok, BattleBlock Theater, Charlie Murder (LOVE), DOOM (mainly 3), The Darkness (1 and 2), Prince of Persia, Left for Dead (completed 1 and most of 2)............................................................................................................tiny bit of Dark Souls (I kinda suck unfortunately lol), Dante's Inferno, Tales of Vesperia, Hitman: Absolution (liked this a good amount, didn't own it), a couple Call of Duty games (ehh), Final Fantasy 12, Splinter Cell: Blacklist (Idr why but I really didn't like it) the first Starcraft (I is bad at rts)...and so many other little Indie games or patches of stuff here and there at friend's houses (like Guitar Hero, RockBand, various GTA games, Super Mario Bros and other fighters, etc) or a few on the PS (3 I think) that I really enjoyed but can't for the life of me remember what the names are (OH, one was Salt and Sanctuary, and there was another that was a big journey - after waking up with amnesia prolly - through abandoned places in the desert and you just rode the sand dunes and shit basically omg it was so fun and pretty lol)...probably still missing some...................................................................................(gotta break this shit up some since you can't do new paragraphs which is STUPID AF) Nintendogs, Brain Age 2, Madagascar, The Legend of Spyro A New Beginning, Spyro Shadow Legacy, Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End, The Chronicles of Narnia, Naruto Path of the Ninja, Animal Crossing, Spectrobes (and Beyond the Portals), Zoo Tycoon DS (UGH this wasn't even very good, but I really just want my Zoo Tycoon Complete Collection back -flails-), Eragon, Spore creatures, plus a little of a few someone gave me like Rune Factory, Pokemon...something...it was sort of based around your own little house where you get mail and catch and raise Pokemon...I think mail may have been in the title???, Devil's or Devil something...and a Harry Potter Gameboy game (I think based on the first book) that I found in a parking lot lol................................................................................................Some more board, card and...other...games I enjoy are Solitaire (though I prefer the digital version tbh), UNO, Egyptian Ratscrew, Cards Against Humanity, Pokemon Master Trainer (heheh), Monopoly (sometimes), Battleship, Chinese (and standard) checkers, Yahtzee, Scrabble, Chutes and Ladders and Mancala.............................................................................................................There are some pretty amazing mobile games too - I love my mindless match3's and idle clickers and shit like that probably close to as much as the next person, but I'll refrain from listing those and give you more...helpful? ones. Educational, choice-making, thought-provoking, or maybe just a little different. There's always Words with Friends (or Scrabble), and there's also a large number of other word games that have you just making words, or connecting them like in a crossword, or whatever else - I personally suggest Word Cookies. Choices That Matter - text based game (by Tin Man games)..................................................................................There are some pretty nice music ones if you're into that, that are a little different from, say, Tap Tap Reborn or Pianista (in other words, kind of the original formula, based off of Guitar Hero and the like)...Muse Runner, though a little limited and challenging, is a lot of fun, as well as Beat Stomper. Skywolf and WhiteTrip are timed runners, though not to music like Muse Runner is, and they're a little different - Skywolf is a simple sidescroller (kinda like MR actually, but def way simpler), whereas WhiteTrip complicates the formula a little with obstacles as well as the things to grab to extend time/go faster, and is from a first-person (you're behind the bird technically) perspective. Shit, there's prolly names for these types of games that I could just say and it would be so much easier....................................................................................................................other brain games I've tried are Left vs Right, Brain Training and The Unbeatable Game. Newsroom and Survival Manual are cool. Wanna get a Ham Radio License? Grab Ham Test Prep. I don't know how Deiland is (though people loved it) but Ankora (they're related - by the same people ofc - but I'm not sure how) is a really fun rpg, adventure and sandbox game. I'm just starting to try out some horror games - the only one I've completed is SIM: Sara(h?) is missing. Interesting. Short. Wonder tree house was...also interesting...it might count as a horror game lol, though pretty mild and just for part of it. WOW. Why did I do this to myself this took like two hours of looking shit up as well as remembering (I did remember well over half, maybe close to 75% of them, pretty proud of myself lol) and I didn't even get atleast a good dozen that were pretty decent or better cuz no record over the years...ANYWHO. If you bothered to read, I super appreciate it and hope you get some good games out of it xD

Wow, how do you have time for life?

@RoboGraham Well, I've honestly been shit at school overall (procrastination and anxiety and depression etc etc etc) and didn't do many/much in the way of college classes, had five times (or something crazy like that, idk, but just saying way, way more works too) as much not-having-a-job time in my life as...my time being employed. I also never hung out much with friends when I had a decent number of fairly close ones (high school up to a couple years after), and have less than half a dozen I'd feel comfortable hanging out with really, and only one of those that can actually chill with me more often than every 2 to 4 weeks. I guess my best friend makes up for it by being able to hang out multiple times a week if we feel like it xD Also, wanna add that most of these were obviously ranging over years ago (well, idk if it's obvious cuz that depends on how well you know any/some/most/all of the games I listed lol) and in the last three I have CONSIDERABLY cut down on my time spent video gaming.

There isn't nearly enough Nintendo love going on here. Don't get me wrong, I love Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, but Super Smash Bros., it's the only mainstream game series I know of to break from the typical fighting game formula. I mean, shit, you can fight against Link, Pikachu, and Kirby as Mario. The perfect nostalgiafest.

Oh, I love Super Smash Bros. Don't have a Wii or WiiU, but when I get the chance to play with my friends, I really enjoy it.

Totally addicted to Fallout, and was pretty disappointed with Fallout 4. Others in my Steam library are (including the most recent versions)--
Mass Effect
Grim Dawn
Left for Dead
Portal
Stalker
Bioshock

I want to get the most recent Doom, but am a HUGE procrastinator and keep missing it when it's on sale.

I can't be called a 'gamer', but I do participate in World of Warplanes, Sim City, and the Kerbel Space Program.

Never got past Atari.

I occasionally immerse myself in the Virtual Reality World of Second Life and InWorldz but they are more social platforms than games. And you can make of it what you will but most of my Avatars are really good looking females. My only two male Avatars are really boring. (Like me 🙂 And no, I don't indulge in pixel sex 😛 Just good conversation and exploring.Exploring Second Life mostly which is remarkably vast.

I used to game years ago; not so much now. I was hard core into Unreal Tournament, especially with the giant maps and low grav. I even ran a dedicated server. Too bad they dropped it.

2

I'm not, however my son is a huge gamer. He loves the .hack series (has every one of the American ones including one Japanese exclusive), Resident Evil, Fear, Diablo, etc. He also participates in three or four Dungeon and Dragons online games. Having Asperger's, this has been his obsession for years.

Ah shucks. How about Water Splash? 😛

Must you trigger me in this way?

So sorry @JosephHarrison. A mindless game helps me to clear my mind and relax. 🙂

Hmm, I find that its's the opposite. A complex game allows me to immerse myself in it and forget about my troubles; in that way, I find it remarkably relaxing.

I'm a huge fan of the civilization series, 5 is my favorite in the series, but 6 is still pretty good. X-COM is another great series, X-COM 2 is probably My favorite game of all time. The Talos principle is a good puzzle game. And of course the elder scrolls: skyrim

If you like the Civilisation series, you might want to look into Paradox Interactive; they've produced a series of grand strategy games which are absolutely mint.

I like Browser games, currently play Age od Heros Conquest, Dawn of the Dragons and Chess

raises eyebrow Only a small step up from Candy Crush.

Mostly rpgs, I like the illusion of being part of the story even if the outcome is the same no matter what.
Sonic the Hedgehog is my guilty pleasure.
There's not really a genre I don't enjoy though.

Have you ever tried getting into strategy games or city builders? I'm getting into Cities: Skylines at the moment; had it for a couple of weeks, just passed the 100 hours played mark.

@JosephHarrison I haven't but I'm open to recomendations

I have plenty, then. Firstly, Cities: Skylines. I think everyone can have fun with that. If you want to get into strategy... Go for Medieval 2: Total War. It's a very good game, one of the best in the series, and it's one of the nicest; a good beginner's game.

Warlock: Master of the Arcane is a good city builder, and when it comes to RTS's in general I like StarCraft 2 most (I do a lot of co op and campaign, not much pvp) with Age of Empires in second (2 and 3 are tied)
