There are some foods missing from the grocery store like Fuji apples. Some other shelves are empty. I don't know all that's missing but has anyone else had the same experience? Food shortages anyone?
The latest news has been there will be another shortage of items and, of course, TP is again one of them. This morning the news was :[yahoo.com]
Maybe a few things are missing from shelves here but nothing I usually purchase. The pandemic disrupted supply chains around the world. I worked as a Purchasing Mgr for years and the supply chains were always fragile. That plus the fact that production was slowed down with businesses shut down or run with fewer workers, leaves us where we are today.
I have noticed a number of “holes” on the shelves, but I don’t buy much in the way of processed foods, so it is not a problem for me. The only thing I’ve wanted that was not found in the produce department is organic oranges. I like the Honeycrisp apples far better than the Fuji’s, and they are available.
Honeycrisps are great! I belong to Imperfect Foods, and they always have Honeycrisps. Fujis and Galas, too.
@MsKathleen They have both conventional and organic. The organic produce costs a bit more, but is still reasonable. They are imperfect, though, and tend to be a lot smaller than regular apples, but they send more of them for the price.
@MsKathleen you never know what you'll see when you open a box from Imperfect Foods. Some of the produce is small or misshapen, and some is huge...like grapefruit-sized fennel I got last week. But it's all good food.
