I would respond: I hope I’m good! 😉

That is a scary threat - but if you can just ignore it, that's probably the best course of action. Though you might report it to the police.

I had a different but similar threat a few years ago, and it really scared me. They wanted bitcoin within x amount of hours to keep from publishing photos of me they couldn't possibly have. I reported it to the local police, asked for advice from family and even posted about it here. I ignored the threat, and then I got dozens more, all saying similar things asking for different amounts of money. I ignored them all and now I don't get any.

With the emails I got, they were saying they had my password (which actually was correct, but I promptly changed it and all my passwords) but I guess that was to show me they had something on me.

I have had passwords claimed that I had stopped using six years ago. They are trawling through old lists of password thefts.

I often used to get letters from people who claimed to be debt collectors, threatening to take me to court over an unpaid bill to a company that did not even exist, and offering me easy payment terms if I settled quickly. They probably did not know that, as a one man business, I know exactly what things I have ordered and from whom. But if I had been a small company with maybe ten or twenty employees, it could have been very different, and I have no doubt that given the bank details, they would not have stopped at collecting the so called debt, but would have quickly emptied every penny out of the account.

I've got such an email a few times. I did not respond and lost no sleep about this. They have yet to follow through with their threats. I know a scam when I see one. Also, if someone has the ability to blackmail someone they should actually choose someone who isn't broke.

You're broke? I wondered why I didn't get my money.

If i got something that specific, i would contact a bunch of government agencies. Including: State attorney general, Federal Communications commission, FBI,....

They will prolly do nothing about it.... But the more reports of this shit, the more likely an investigation will occur.

But, if they do post a video, provide us with the link so we can be sure it is fake.

I have, told them to be my guest. Last I ever heard from them.

It's a scam. Please contact the police.

Luckily, I never had this happen.

I have heard several people get contacted with those emails. Maybe tell them to make it look as realistic as possible, you don’t want Britney Spears or Miley Cyrus low quality fakes.

I had something similar too, which made me laugh. Mine said they caught me on porn sites. Ha-ha, nope! This is a well-known scam, an email sent to millions. It wouldn't hurt to call the police, though.

That is similar to the emails I got a few years ago. I don't look at porn, so it simply wasn't possible. Plus I cover the camera on my computer anyway. Glad you could laugh about it - It's creepy for sure!

I have had something similar. In my own experience they are nothing but empty threats. If things do turn nasty you have recourse to legal action against the perpetrators.

i wish someone would threaten me with playing doctor.

thats not good. sounds kinda cheesy tho. someone to lazy to do any more than make threats seems unlikely to spend that kinda effort doctoring when they can just move on to the next threatening.

I had something similar a few years back, said they hacked my web cam and saw me "doing things". I have a laptop in the kitchen, never used the cam and no cam on the game PC. Don't reply , it's a phishing scam, looking for a live one.

Wow that’s horrible. No, thankfully I’ve not experienced anything like it. Have you contacted the police?
