Here's a thought. I was driving the other day and saw a billboard which began with a huge NOEL. I didn't pay much attention to the rest of it. But it occurred to me that this word should be an atheist term. Perhaps a bit of a modification might be appropriate presenting the term as No-El.

I had understood that the term El was a Herbrew word for God as in El Shaddai. It was realizing this definition helped me remember the correct spelling of the name 'Michael', and it appears in a lot Hebrew based name such as Gabriel, Samuel, Daniel, and many more.

So, if we think of the word Noel as a compound term, it would indicate "No God".

Next time you see the word Noel this holiday season .....
