The real battleground is the right-wing monopoly of the radio airwaves by the authoritarian conservative movement, due to their orchestrated destruction of the Fairness Doctrine.
It's culminating now,, 35 years later, in a legal, nonviolent coup, a takeover of government on all levels in the states they control, (at least 26). That number of states will only increase with each passing election.

Billionaires and mega corporations are now too rich and too powerful. They can buy up entire governments, rewrite the laws in their favor and make the tax payer's money vanish into their tax havens
