In the standard 52 card deck game SNAP each player randomly places a card on top of the previous card until a consecutive card pair of the same value is played.

How many cards would you expect to be played until there is a consecutively equal value pair?

On the first draw I put down 1 and there are 3 chances in 51 that their next card will be the same. 1:17. I'm not sure how the odds will change with each draw, becauae of the number of remainig cards and the"dead" cards but if we assume 1:17 is the worst odds because I expect that N if it changes, will reduce wirh each draw, then although the probabilty is 1:17 on each draw the probability will reach unity over 17 cards.
