What 'penalty', 100 Hail Mary's and 100 Our Fathers then go out and repeat molesting all over again, that'd be the Catholic way imo.
One important thing to remember about the Vatican and its great Propaganda machine is that that what they tell everyone else is the TOTAL OPPOSITE of what THEY do.

I'll wait to see just who gets punished - the accused or the accuser?

Sadly my money remains on the Accuser and NEVER the Accused getting punished.

With how long sexual abuse has been happening and their being aware of it, I have to wonder if the changes won't just be superficial when it comes to taking the actions of protecting children and punishing predator priests.

Il Papa, aka Protector Of Paedophile Employees, will just do as has always been done, i.e. sweep it all under the carpet.

Actual enforcement will be required for it to make any difference.

Please do NOT hold your breath waiting for anything to happen.
