Not everyone is worth $15.00 an hour. Those that are willing to continue to improve to earn $15.00 an hour and then on to $20.00 and more will go so.
If the best that anyone has to offer is an $8.00 work ethic while crying for $15.00 with no self respect to do better, they should be fired.

Tried to give a shit about your opinion and it just didn't work.

@redbai similar to the economics of the $15.00 cry from the lazy and/or uneducated folks in this country.

@CourtJester Nope. Still don't give a shit. Your opinion is still nothing but the boring programmed rant of the ignorant.

@redbai opinion is different then economics.

Makes a lousy point and he is living in a la la land.

What if they don't want Porsche and they know their business does not need Porsche? There are Fiats, Trabant, Subaru 360, Edsel, Morris Marina, Fords, Toyota, Mercedes and BWMs in the labor market. All are not Porsches. The Porsches in the labor market are not demanding minimum wages. They will continue to command top prices. Software programmers, network architects, video graphic designers and animators are Porsches for example. Businesses are giving large sign-on bonuses to hire them, let alone minimum wage.

Prices are controlled by demand and supply dynamics. If cheaper options are available and if they fit the need, the prices will remain cheap because the supply is plenty. If you force higher labor prices, we have seen businesses and factories move overseas. No president in the US has been able to stop it. All make tall promises in election campaigns but nobody has delivered.

"What if they don't want Porsche and they know their business does not need Porsche?"

Then, following the comparison, they don't need labor. The rest of your comment is changing the OP into something it doesn't say to claim it's a lousy point.

@redbai

If and when they need labor, they will get it at a low price is my point. The supply of the uneducated, unskilled labor in every society is plenty and countries bring in people from outside when they don't have enough like in Gulf Arabic countries, Germany etc. but they will not pay higher wages locally.

Just wanting businesses to pay more because it is a law or you want social justice have not worked and will not work. In today's global economy, businesses have easier choices. Businesses don't start and run because they want to please social activists. They work to make a profit and low costs is the big part of it.

If I was a business, I would ask this weirdo guy to guarantee me certain revenue level if I paid higher wages. I am sure he will be either quiet or balk. Being a social warrior with no accounting for what you say is an easy thing to do.

Making thoughtless social media posts is dumb but reposting it is dumber.

@St-Sinner "If and when they need labor, they will get it at a low price is my point."

If I 'need' a Porsche I'm going to get one no matter how much it costs. If I 'need' it as opposed to 'want' it, I may even go steal it. I wouldn't do it just because I want it. If a business wants labor and can't afford it they are called a failure. If they need it, pay for it or find some other way to get it done.

"Just wanting businesses to pay more because it is a law or you want social justice have not worked and will not work."

Except when the government created a minimum wage and the economy continued working just fine. Except when unions started demanding livable wages and those industries did just fine.

If a business cannot afford labor tough shit, be more successful. Minimizing the value of a human being so that businesses can pay insulting wages is nothing except bullshit rationales made by those who don't believe their lives will be affected by their reasoning.
