The right to petition or redress is embedded in the Constitution. It made sense at the time it was written and it still makes sense for a person to be able to petition his representatives. What does not make sense, to my mind, is that corporations, unions, associations can share the same rights as a real person and that unlimited monies can be utilized in realizing that petition. The Supreme Court in 2010 upheld its theory that corporations are legal persons.
I think that money in politics is ruining our country, but as the video suggests that ain't going to change anytime soon, given the amount of monies involved. Instead of the most qualified individuals running the government we have the most wealthy shitheads running it.
