Shortly before Hawking died, he said black holes probably don’t exist. However, science fiction most definitely does exist.

Don't know about " hairy black holes" in space BUT trust me when I say that as a Mid-wife, and NO offense meant here ladies, I have seen more than my fair share of them in Delivery rooms....LOL.

It is a certainty that both Relativity and Quantum Mechanics are incomplete. The predictions are always very, very good, but also off by some ridiculously tiny fraction (or a much bigger fraction).

I wonder whether the accretion disk becomes blue as it nears the event horizon? The idea being that more energetic blue frequencies can escape the gravity better than the red frequencies??
