Hey, anyone interested in starting an e-mail campaign to TRY to get Mr. Mathew Payne, sorry my error it is spelled as Mathew, not Matthew (aka Evangelidiot btw), of Broken Hill, NSW, Australia ( can be found on Facebook btw) to CEASE his senseless desire to hack the life and guts out of a 80+ year tree SIMPLY because, for a approx. 1-2 hours per day it cuts, not STOPS the LATE afternoon sun from shining FULLY on his Solar Panels.
This tree, pictured below, IS on MY property, it does NOT encroach upon his, is home to countless birds and does no-one any harm at all.
I am fighting him solo and would greatly appreciate a wee bit of back up if no-one minds give it to me via Facebook, etc.
Photos from top left to bottom right,
What the tree looks like NOW on his side after he has attacked (photos taken . 04/22,
bottom from left to right. taken from my front garden /4/22, sorry but could only manage to show about 2/3 of the ENTIRE height of the tree, a garden bed got in the way of my being able to step back far enough.

I would suggest going to the council to get a ruling on what he is and is not allowed to do under local laws. If he has overstepped that then sic the council onto him.

Start up a e-petition to send to council or even a paper one with your neighbours signing it about him.

If you can legally do so then get him charged for the damage and a restraining order as he could do significant damage to the tree that is can not recover from.

Even knowing what the other side looks like is bad.

True, ever so true and I guess I may well not be still around to see it once it has recovered and healed itself over the savagery that he has put it through.

@Triphid I haven't got a picture, but our neighbours pruned their two trees back that we see out our front window everyday. One tree has no branches left on it at all, it's just a tall ''telephone pole'' now, & the other is a stump. UGLY!!!

@Lilac-JadeCanada Sad, ever so sad, I feel for you and the poor trees as well.
Did they merely prune them back because the trees are deciduous and will re-grow or was it because, like Evangelidiot, the THINK they know everything about Horticulture, etc, etc, but in truth know Sweet F**k All?

@Triphid No idea, the owner was not a resident, as the house was rented out. It will eventually grow back, but in the meantime.....

@Triphid Grabbed a photo today.....

@Triphid A couple more.....

@Lilac-JadeCanada Sad, very, very sad, disgusting and shameful as well.
Don't they have Environmental Protection Laws and Regulations over your way?
Thankfully we do and yesterday I had the opportunity to discuss with and show a local E.P.A. Representative what Idiot-features had done.
The result being that,
a) knowingly 'pressuring a person who is recovering from a severe illness/injury IS illegal and large Fines may well be incurred,
b) after a check of the registered Arborists within a 500 km/300mile radius NO Mathew Payne was found to be a certified Arborist, and,
c) once this, to quote him, "Easter weekend garbage is over and done I shall be getting the ball rolling on at least 2 main counts, 1) that tree is a minimum of *0 years old, therefore it is a part of the heritage and history of this town, and, 2) Unlicensed and Unlawful and Deliberate damage has been done to a part of nature and a home, etc, to birds, both Native and Feral."
She managed, since as a E.P.A. Officer, can enter the area of any property that is legally classified as accessible to the Public without a Warrant, and she took numerous photos using a much better camera than I have.

@Triphid Yes, they do in the larger cities, but I've not heard anything for the smaller areas.

Those trees are just on the edge of their property line, but they sure are ugly out our front window.

I didn't get a photo of the stump as the angle wasn't right unless I went all the way outside in the cold wind. Not going to do that just for a picture.

They are poplars so will come back, but it'll be awhile. I enjoyed watching the birds land in those trees, & we have resident squirrels to watch too.

I sure hope they follow through with action at your end of this ugliness.

@Lilac-JadeCanada As long as the trees have a chance of recovery then it is acceptable, barely though in my opinion.
I was always taught by experienced Orchardists, Greeks mainly, that " fruiting trees such as Oranges, etc, etc, need and deserve a good pruning every 3-5 years and smaller pruning in between BUT only in the short periods when they are not setting buds for flowers or setting fruit.
In my yard there is a Washington Navel Orange tree growing that was there when my parents bought the place back in the 60,s, at the moment it is setting fruit but only on the sections where newer growth has occurred so over the next few weeks/month I will be slowly removing the dead and dying centre of the tree to give the newer growth a better chance of surviving hopefully until well after I "kick the bucket."

@Triphid I don't know much about gardening of any sort as it's my husband's thing. But I do know the fruit trees need care. I just don't understand the total butchering.

@Lilac-JadeCanada There is a vast difference between PRUNING a tree for the benefit of both the tree and the person growing it and "BUTCHERING" a tree as per, imo, that done recently by Idiot-face.
With Orange trees in particular the more regular the pruning back the bigger the size of the fruits they produce usually.
However, Citrus trees seem to have a rotating fruiting system, so to speak, where each alternative fruiting season they will want to produce smaller fruits and in a greater abundance which does NOT suit Commercial Growers.
Judging by the fruits setting on my Navel Orange at present I'd hazard a guess to say that I am possibly in for a late winter crop of fruits that are going to big but not so numerous and plentiful.
I can still remember the first ever season when the family had just moved in to this house and the oranges were ripe and ready, my younger sister challenged to to an Orange eating contest BUT she discovered that the oranges were actually almost the size of Bowling Balls, no kidding either btw they were HUGE, so her challenge was taken up and she begged to quit after trying to eat her second orange..

@Triphid We do have some fruit trees in the area, but not the citrus. South of us is big for apples, cherries, peaches, pears, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, etc. We have lots of apple trees here in town, but not on our property.

Hahahaha......that would be some challenge to follow up on!

Its shade is on his property? You lose.

Oh Great, Wise and Wonderous Ancient Sage of Californicfukup, FYE I am in a COUNTRY called AUSTRALIA we too have laws and not the same idiotic things you lot call laws in Seppoland.
Here in the harsh, hot and arid outback of New South Wales we value trees, the shade they give, the wind protection, etc, to be gained from them, etc, etc, ERGO we have Environmental Laws PROTECTING trees, etc, from random and wanton destruction and damage, etc.
AND, surprise, surprise, Oh wise and self-righteous One of the State of Californicfucup, U.S.A. we ALSO have Private Property Laws as well.
PLUS the shade in the MORNINGS from his trees as you will see from the attached photos, IF you can find your magnifying lens that is, is cast across my property and does so for almost the entire day making one section of one of my garden beds totally unsuitable for almost all plants to grow.
FYE, less than 60+ years ago, this area was almost completely devoid of trees and all that grew here were short, stubby plants such as Saltbush, etc, because the entire area had been STRIPPED bare by a Company called B.H.P. ( Broken Hill Proprietary Limited) for usage as propping timbers and firewood for their Silver, Lead and Zinc Smelters, of course they upped roots and left when the company had made its MI:LLIONS.
It took MASSIVE Efforts from almost every person, man, woman and child living here to re-generate the country-side post B.H.P.
But hey, why am I bothering trying to tell you something when, imo, your cranium is so far up your rectum you need a toothbrush attached to a broom handle just reach in far enough to clean your teeth.

Forgive me Oh Wise and Sagacious One but please observe the photos below.
From Top Left to Right and bottom Left to Right, you will see on the top are photos of the tree and my side of MY property.
The last 2 are of his tree and were they are growing in his property,.
Oh and case you may be wondering the mural painted upon the fence is on MY property and was painted there by me as well.

Then by your original comment, SINCE the shade from one of HIS trees is upon MY property therefore should he also not lose?
See, MR. All Bright and Ever So Knowing One, you cannot have the one without the other.

Where I live in Oz the branches of the tree have to be over your boundary and then all you can do is cut them at your fence line. You are not allowed to lean over your fence to cut them further back. You are also allowed to drop the pieces you cut into the yard of the tree owner.

If it is just the shade then you have no legal rights what so ever.

That guy is such a fucking asshole!

Could say something even harsher and stronger but you are a Lady so I shall refrain from dong so.

@Triphid Well thank you for your lovely manners, but I can handle whatever you have to say about this tree murderer. I’d like to tell him off myself for damaging that beautiful tree! πŸ˜‰

@Redheadedgammy Firstly, does this American term of " asshole" refer to the the person it is being used to describe either, a) the rear section of a mule/ass, or, as we say here in Australia, Arse-hole, as in the exit point for bodily waste?
You see, here to describe someone as being an "Arse-hole" means,
A) that either they are like a rectum, completely full of shit, or,
B) and in non-sexual specific terms, useful for only one thing mostly.
However, in the case of Evangelidiot, there is another Aussie saying that may well fit him almost to a "T" and that being " As Useless as Tits on a Bull," or, " about as useful as a C**t on a skeleton."

@Triphid yep the rear section of a Mule, or as you say β€œarsehole”! πŸ˜‰
