I want to pay tribute and say Happy birthday to one of my favorite writers in the English language, Terry Pratchett. He has brought me so much joy with his fantasy writing. I keep listening to the audiobooks over and over again. He died of a particularly nasty version of Alzheimer's dementia in 2015.

Happy birthday pTerry! Your loss is an embuggerment indeed. Looking forward to the new series of Good Omens knowing it is based on an idea that you cooked up with Neil many years ago.
You may have drawn your last breath already but it the last time someone utters your name will not be for many centuries to come.

MattHardy, I read in his final words that he had destroyed the hard drive on his computer by taking it out and letting it be run over by a caterpillar because he did not want any other writer to finish his works.

@Spinliesel - yes indeed,

Though Good Omens was a joint work and he specifically asked Neil to make the Good Omens TV show. The prohibition certainly doesn't count for series 1. I'm more than happy to extend the same grace to their joint idea for a followup getting the TV treatment.

@MattHardy This brings me to another topic: the videos of the Discworld subjects: I am probably more primitive than the average older adult but I enjoy them tremendously. The Colour of Magic, The Hogfather... can't recall the other ones I have. You realize that now I do not have a VCR player-TV combination anymore and hope for digital treatments somewhere on the Web,
Also, have you noticed that there is a group of British writers from the recent time period using the same whimsical language in their writing? Douglas Adams, the writers for Monty Python, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman. Did they'll hang out together and read their stuff to each other? As a non-English reader, I notice the same phrases and the same rhythm in sentences. I guess some of them hung out together in school. Thanks for the link.
