It could be worse, in Merika that idiot Ted Cruz wants to limit schools to a single door. Human evolution is in retrograde.

Set aside the gun loving culture, they don't make you safe, they make you much more likely to be injured or killed by a person with a gun. I lived on the island of Bermuda for 8 years, the militia and the special flying squad of the police had a few guns and the gangsters had just one .38 caliber pistol that you could rent for $10k/day and the bullets were $500 a piece. Needless to say, gun crime was an extremely rare occurrence and dictators didn't take over and oppress the population because they knew full well that the people would rise up and put them in the stocks for a public beating.
If there was a real movement afoot to limit or even stop these mass shootings then there would be publicly funded health care that included mental health, there would be mandatory safety training and a psychological assessment before a person could purchase a gun and there would be no more NRA.
None of these solutions are considered to be viable by the American public or their elected officials so you can expect to see more of these inane proposals to solving the VERY Amerika Problem of Mass Shootings, when it comes to mass shootings and gun violence, Amerika is Truly Exceptional.
No other country in the world would put up with such madness and I include the Democratic Republic of the Congo in that statement.

I wish we could limit him to a single door with bars on it.

He wants a single ENTRY door with many fire exit doors that can't be opened from the outside, but open from the inside with panic hardware.

Your post is somewhat incorrect.

So if an emergency occurs - one not involving a person with a gun no one can get in except through that one door. Let's just limit or restrict everyone else's freedom and reconstruct what was a functioning building so a minority who want assault weapons can be free to purchase them.
This is what is so puzzling, limit others and instill fear so the minority gets what they want. How well regulated is that?

I listened to his speech where he mentioned this and he did not talk about any fire exit doors. On the other hand I'm sure he realized that fire exit doors were needed.

Unfortunately fire exit doors can be broken into. I can also think of other ways to outsmart this type of safety system. [fireengineering.com]

Cruiz and his greedy minions will do and say anything to keep the campaign money flowing from the gun and ammunition manufacturers as well as the NRA and one issue voters.

I want real background checks for mental stability and criminal past as well as red line or whatever they're called laws. I want a waiting period of at least a week when someone goes to buy a gun.I also want well trained uncowardly security guards and reasonable rules at schools that are mandatory Nationwide.

Thanks to the selfish greedy power hungry vermin we have elected to congress there are way too many guns out there and it's going to be really hard to control them. That's not a reason to not try though. For example this time of year my house is over run with ants. I've been trying for years to eliminate that problem and every year it gets a little better because I learn about an additional way to control them. I will never give up and neither will they.

@silverotter11 I was not expresssing an opinion, I was correcting the statement. The remainder of your reply is silly.

@Lorajay He clarified his statement regarding exits verses entrances.

I agree with the licensing prerequisites you mentioned.

@Alienbeing "Texas Senator Ted Cruz seemed to be trying to distract the popular fury over the massacre with an argument that schools need fewer doors, a nonsensical argument that seemed designed to derail the public conversation as people go down rabbit holes talking about fire safety and extended school campuses, gym class, and recess, and murderers who simply pull fire alarms." HCR

@silverotter11 Cruz is far from my favorite politician. He was one of the first to cozy up to Trump when it was clear he would not get the nomination. I have a low opinion of anyone who promotes Trump.
