I have had heart palpitations off and on for decades; they vary from actual palpitations to a pause from one beat to the next. In the far past, cutting out caffeine stopped them, but as I have cut out caffeine and aspartame for three years and they still return on occasion, I decided to wear a heart monitor for a couple of days to rule out anything serious as I am getting older. I will be 70 this year, though I don't know how 70 is any different from past years as I feel great and my activities have not slowed down.

However, that is not why I am writing this post! I was disappointed that people did not comment or ask about the heart monitor openly displayed upon my chest. I had comments all figured out:

  1. I am just wearing it to prove to the people who call me "heartless" that I do, indeed, have a heart.
  2. I am a cyborg and the battery that keeps me going needs a back-up for awhile.
  3. What are you talking about? There's nothing on my chest.
  4. The people who said that Covid 19 vaccines were right: Bill Gates IS tracking me.

BUT NOOOO . . . Everyone had to be polite and not ask about it. However, that did not keep me from pointing it out and still giving my reasons for wearing the monitor.

The worst part about wearing it was taking it off--it was like removing a huge Band-Aid that didn't want to let go.

You mean you are not a cyborg ?!! How did you get through the filters ? We are all cyborgs on here.

( That's a fact, the village priest told me. )

I didn't see anything. And what would you say if I admitted to looking at your chest?

Where did you post that photo?

@Gwendolyn2018 What were we supposed to notice to become aware that you were wearing a heart monitor? Am I having a senior moment?

@Gwendolyn2018 If it was in real life I feel a lot better about missing it. Hope all is good with you.

I don't look very closely at ID pics, since they may/may not even be of the ID, so didn't notice. Funny reasons and the Band-Aid is but a memory. I'm glad you're well, for the moment.

@Gwendolyn2018 Zen forbids me from predicting the future but not being glad, for you, at each moment seems unlikely.

My apologies, I didn't notice that you were wearing one.
Hope all goes well.

@Gwendolyn2018 Well, I'm blind AF. Even if you had, there's no guarantee I would have seen it.
🤷♀️

@Gwendolyn2018 That makes me feel MUCH better!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣

So I guess we can assume that you don't have anything seriously wrong going on? Yay! 😊

Most people are afraid to ask "difficult" questions. They do not know what to say. They feel inadequate to respond to friends or others in such situations. They often feel guilty that they are okay and you are not. There are not many who can handle illness in others openly. I wonder if you have not had enough of time to talk about this. You always have us.

It’s interesting that you have had this experience with your heart. I was put on some medication that caused the heart palpitations you speak of. I stopped taking the medication, but am still having the palpitations/flutters as I call them. I will be seeing a new doctor in the next few weeks and will ask him about this monitor thing. Have you gotten any results back from the monitor? I think #4 is a great answer for people who inquire about the monitor. If I get a monitor I am stealing that response. 😘

Getting one the 17th to to wear for an entire month, yipppppeeeeee.

@Gwendolyn2018 I will be opening my pool and "swimming"...perhaps since it is a shallow above-ground I will tie it around my neck at the carotoids.

I hope all will be well with you Anne. Please let us know how everything goes with you. 😘
