Bill Cosby was found guilty on all counts. I know everyone is supposed to hate him now, but I can't help but feel sad. I always found him to be entertaining and at least publicly a good guy. I hoped they would find out he was innocent. I may be naive, but I hate losing the people I grew up watching whether to death, or just by not being able to respect them anymore. He must have done the things he was accused of, or they wouldn't have found him guilty, but it seems so inconsistent with his public demeanor.

I think Cosby started to believe the godlike status the media portrayed him to be. Just like those Catholic priests. I never bought into either.

I understand your sadness. I looked up to Bill Cosby as a kid and throughout my life. Now, I am disappointed and angry at what he had done. To find out that this man, who could be so funny as a clean comedian, would end up being a low-life rapist! It is a mix of emotions for me, I am sad that it is true for I have lost someone that I really admired and respected and at the same time, I am angry at him for what he did to those women.

Dave Chappelle's new Netflix special has a long bit about the Cosby rapes and the shock it was to him that his childhood hero and inspiration would do such a thing.

He joked,"At first I thought jealous people were trying to disgrace Doctor Cosby with false testimonies. But after the 23rd woman came forward, I thought, 'Man, I bet he only raped two or three of those women..'"

I know what you mean but people like this don't want to stand out in any way like this or they wouldn't be able to get away with it so long. professionally they can be the nicest people seemingly but can be complete wankers in real life. our royal family in the UK are arguably the most seen people in the country but they are the least known.

He's guilty as hell now will have to pay for what he did. I'm glad to see a little touch of justice in this case. There is so much more that he is guilty of. The guy is a rapist. I have no sympathy for him. Yes, I laughed at him back in the day. That was before I knew about his dark side.

I was a big fan of The Cosby Kids audios.I find it all so depressing now.
I wouldn't feel right introducing the next generation to things like My Brother Russel now.

It can be hard to separate actors from the characters they play. When you feel like you know someone, and it turns out that they have done terrible things, it can feel very personal. So I understand the sadness.
At the same time, they were not going to “find out he was innocent.” Dozens of women have come forward with similar stories about gross violations. If he had been found not guilty by the court, it would’ve only been a terrible injustice for his many victims.

Fat Albert was the first thing that introduced me to him. That was tame pablum even to my ten year old mind. Then I heard the album "To My Brother Russel Whom I Slept With". I reveled at the humor and insight. The sitcom stuff seemed a step backward to me.
But the rape allegations and now conviction... The evil that men do lives after them. The good oft interred with the bones.

So be it.

That is EXACTLY what makes it so vile and disturbing.

Yes I wish it wasn’t true. I loved Bill Cosby and all his show. From Fat Albert to the last TV show he stared in Cosby. To bad he turned out to be a dirt bag rapist. I will never be able to watch any of his shows with out thinking about that. I hope he spends the rest of his life behind bars.

His inconsistency with public behavior prettymuch set his trap. As I’ve digested it, looking forward to some resolution, I’ve come to a different opinion. Never having watched or admired his TV program, assuming any ‘shitcom’ to be ..just that, I had nothing to judge him beyond these ongoing trials. Yes, I’d listened to his comedy skits on ‘long players’ back in the day, but so what..

My conclusion is what a disservice guys like him have done to guys like us. They’re the pricks that ..apparently get the women - and cause women to distrust men. So, what a Fucker! But it’s also caused me to feel much better about women’s aggressive outing of that shit. I’ve had to lose respect for several folks, too … we all have. I’ve two daughters, and not only should life be safer for them with predators like Cosby out of circulation - but his kind can be placed on notice that they’d better keep it in check … those days are over ~

So add deceiver to the list of sins he did!!!

Like so many who have been found but were popular figures. It's disappointing but the man is an arsehole and deserves the rest of his life in prison.

2

The man is a serial rapist. I'm sorry your bubble got burst. Looking at this with nostalgia is a little tone deaf. We need to be better men than that.

Oh! The voice of reason! Thank you.

I'm sad for him. If he's that much of a predator he should be punished-just like trump.

I agree, but I still can't deny the sadness I feel, like a loss to the world.

@Eazyduzzit
His whole persona was part of his predatory trap to RAPE! I don't feel like we lost anything good. Anything good he may have done was completely negated when he CHOSE to rape.

@Emme I agree. As a survivor of assault and abuse...there are people in this world who only show their REAL face to their victims; to the rest of the world, they’re just great. I wouldn’t wish seeing behind the mask on anyone.

@CarolinaGirl60
Exactly! People don't damn know until they've EXPERIENCED it.
"Aww, but I don't understand...he was such a nice guy..."
Sociopaths, serial killers too, such nice guys.
