This ought rightly to be a 14th Amendment issue. Women are being deprived of the equal protection of the law.

Men aren't forced to live with the consequences of failed birth control. Women are. It's as simple as that to me.

The man has to pay for the kid until it's 18 whether he wanted the kid or not. As an aside and I know it's going to set some people's hair on fire, if he wants his kid and she doesn't, he doesn't have any rights either supposedly.

Many men do suffer the consequences of unwanted children. Unless things have changed dramatically only a very small percentage of men support their offspring until they're 18. Being awarded child support and getting it in Oklahoma were two very different things.

Here's the link to some national stats on that issue. Payments have obviously increased in the last 30 years but 58 or 78% compliance does not keep a woman from suffering the consequences of an unwanted child more than the male does.

@Lorajay Thank you.

@Lorajay just so I understand, the fact that a man has to pay for a child he doesn't want cancels out the fact that he doesn't get a child he wants. Funny how people just gloss over that like it doesn't matter at all since it's half his kid. If 100% of the men paid full child support till 18 that would change your opinion how?

Your opinion lacks substance, as indeed men can be affected by failed birth control, although failed birth control is usually not the reason for an abortion.
